WWE Money in the Bank 2018 Predictions: Who Will Grab the Briefcase

The 2018 edition of WWE’s Money in the Bank takes place today. We got our staff together to predict who will win the men’s and women’s briefcases.

Men’s Money in the Bank: Samoa Joe vs. The Miz vs. Finn Balor vs. Braun Strowman vs. Kevin Owens vs. Rusev vs. Bobby Roode vs. A Member of the New Day

Murjani Rawls: My heart tells me Finn Balor. My brain tells me Braun Strowman. Outside of Seth Rollins, Finn has really killed it as far as match quality on the RAW brand. The MITB briefcase would be good for him in terms of taking back what he never lost – the Universal Championship. Braun winning the briefcase would be fun because the WWE could play with having this brute force looming in the background waiting to cash in.

DJ Chapman: My process of elimination for this comes down to “Who can’t have a briefcase with them?” Joe, Rusev, and Braun are too big, it would just look silly. Finn and Bobby have entrances that involve their hands too much so that takes them out, and The New Day already have too many props. That leaves the only logical conclusion who could carry that briefcase for almost year with pride before cashing it in at WrestleMania 35: The Miz!

Rob Crowther IV: It may be more of a fantasy booking, but I can see Samoa Joe who has been somewhat flying under the radar grabbing the briefcase at the PPV. With the WWE Championship match being a Last Man Standing match, this would be a golden opportunity for the master of the Coquina Clutch to take advantage of the situation in order to very quickly become your NEW WWE Champion. I think a lot of people are overlooking the Last Man Standing match factor.

Michael Dworkis: Finn Balor wins the men’s MITB. Not much has come his way lately, and this seems like the time and place to give him something big. He doesn’t have to cash it in soon, he can hold it until much later when the time is right for him to become Universal Champion. Or, maybe he will pull a swerve and take it to SmackDown to challenge either AJ Styles or Shinksuke Nakamura.

Bill Bodkin: It comes down to The Miz, Braun, or Finn. All three of them definitely deserve it, but only one can win. I’m going with Braun. He’s perfect for this. He needs to be the guy to finally dethrone Brock Lesnar. And his theme music will perfectly pop a crowd when he finally decides to cash in.

Women’s Money in the Bank Match: Natalya vs. Charlotte vs. Naomi vs. Lana vs. Becky Lynch vs. Sasha Banks vs. Ember Moon vs. Natalya vs. Alexa Bliss.

Michael Dworkis: Becky Lynch. Sure, they could use a Natalya win to tease a feud with Rousey, but I just don’t like it and Natalya/Rousey feud doesn’t seem to fit well. Lynch has been stuck at the bottom, despite some main event spots lately, she would benefit from a MITB win. It’s not a title, but its enough where she will gain some much needed traction in the Women’s Division.

Rob Crowther IV: As for the women, who have been absolutely stealing the show(s) of late, I think it’s the Lass-kicker’s time to shine. Becky Lynch has been in the background for sometime now but has finally gotten a HUGE win over the queen, Charlotte Flair. I’m hoping to see Straight Fire ride this momentum to become your new Miss Money in the Bank. Oh yeah, she recently liked my tweet. Just sayin’.

DJ Chapman: I have a wild theory for this one. Natalya is going to win the Women’s Money in the Bank in a match where she doesn’t do too much work and has the other women take each other out. Then after Ronda and Nia Jax’s match, Ronda will win the belt and Natalya will cash in THAT NIGHT and win the RAW Women’s Championship.

Murjani Rawls: I’m going to go ahead and choose Natalya. The reason is because Ronda Rousey is presumably going to win the Women’s Championship from Nia. What better betrayal that would equal to Ronda’s first loss than from her mentor/friend? They have been teasing the leg injury and this overly friendly and gracious feel from the two. Just from a story line perspective, this would make the most sense. As a quintessential favorite? Becky Lynch. Becky Lynch.

Bill Bodkin: Where this match ends up on the show will dictate who wins. If this match happens prior to Ronda/Nia — then 1000% Natalya wins this match. Nattie still has one of the best chances to win this match, but do not count out Alexa Bliss. The Goddess could also grab this and cash in on whomever. Would it shock me to see her pick off Ronda or Nia? Nope. I know everyone’s thinking Becky Lynch, but “Surfer Sting” Becky is who we all thought would win last year, and look who won it — Carmella.

WWE Money in the Bank 2018 streams tonight on the WWE Network.
