IDW Comic Review: Transformers Lost Light #22

Gods among Cybertronians?

Yep.

This issue has a ton of surprises. Just when you thought you had some idea of where things were heading, Barber and Co. decide to add another swerve. No, not the character, but yet another reveal which like others, had seeds planted many issues ago.

We wondered exactly why certain characters past and present seemed to guide or attempt to manipulate fate into some sort of scheme. The mention of a moniker such as “The Grand Architect” seems to instill a sense of royalty and imposing presence.

As the story of this ragtag group of Transformers winds down, it is easy to see how Barber really took an appreciation and enjoyment to crafting the characters. The progression of how this story comes to an end is very well done.

Coming right off last issue, another story arc returns to wrap up and we learn a little bit more about who and why certain antagonists manipulated events in the way we read them to unfold.

I’ve enjoyed how assorted Transformers are added to the cast, even if only for bit parts. It was a common sighting to see known and unknown Transformers roaming around. Like seeing small cameos.

Lost Light #22 gets a 9 out of 10.

Some intense battles, and boy, do I love Geoff Senior’s variant cover.

Lost Light #22 is now available at comic book retailers everywhere.
