Review: Regression #11

I can assure you that this review will have spoilers from Vol. 1 & 2. If you’re not caught up wait to read this review. Unless you want caught up without this issue being spoiled. Then you’re doing this right.

At the end of issue #10 we discovered the Molly had multiple past lives that intertwined with Sutter. What threw me for a loop was that she was actually Sutter’s sacrifice. In every incarnation her past self fully trusted Sutter. It explains so much as to why Molly was super trusting on Adrian in her current life. Even after seeing what he did to her art gallery friend.

We also learned that Det. Graymercy has tried to bring down the cult and Sutter in a past life. Seems fitting that he’s trying to do it all again in his current life. And, the big twist at the end of issue #10? Adrian seems to be dead, and by that I mean whatever demon had a hold of Sutter is now in full control of Adrian.

Issue 11 picks up with Molly realizing and facing her past. Carmen wanted to protect Molly from all this, but ended up letting Molly remember. One thing that Molly remembers clearly is one common thing. The place she was killed was always the same. Molly wants to track down the house she was sacrificed in a last attempt to save Adrian. But, Anton thinks that is a terrible idea.

It’s not long after that Anton falls into a trance like state. Here he learns the full picture of his past life Alban. All the dots are connecting lines to make a bloody picture. And, of course in this issue we also get to see Adrian. Well, he’s no longer Adrian, instead he’s the demon messiah. Mild spoiler: Adrian is not quite forgiving people for their sins, but letting them believe demons are the cause of it so they feel better about it.

Wait until you dive into this issue and hear some of the confessions these people share. And, this cult has been doing this for centuries.

Of course I had hopes that Adrian would be able to fight his past. But, that is not the direction our story took. Adrian takes on the role of cult leader quickly. And, he enjoys using his cult members for his own gain. Adrian is the worst. Pick up this issue to see exactly what I mean there.

Regression Volume 3 continues this bloody good tale. Establishing everyone in their roles, and explaining the ins and outs of their past lives with some characters.

Rating: 8/10
