Review: Lost Light #23

Roberts certainly threw us a curve ball with the insane revelation last issue, Gods Walk Among Us.

Host bodies in Transformers. I know it’s crazy, but since More Than Meets the Eye, it’s been a crazy roller coaster ride of storytelling. The impossible becomes possible. Remember that time when Megatron became an Autobot?

How about some crazy ex-Autobots try to kill everyone? The Decepticon Justice Division? Alternate timelines and parallel universes?

From More Than Meets the Eye to Lost Light we’ve had our fair share of the unfathomable. Things take a turn when our gathered crews come together to face an unexpected evil and some tough decisions.

The artwork in Lost Light has been the best of the IDW Transformer Universe. One wouldn’t expect emotion to be a big draw, but the design of the characters has been the highlight of the series’ run.

The final story runs parallel to events in Optimus Prime and Unicron. Instead of Unicron, we have an evil zombie-like version of Primus from the Functionist Universe destroying worlds. I would laugh hysterically if somehow they led this bizarro-Primus over to face off against Unicron. It would make no sense, but it would be a logical way to stop Unicron.

Lost Light is great fun and I will be sad when it’s all over.

Lost Light #23 gets a 9 out of 10.

Lost Light#23 is now available at comic book retailers everywhere.
