Matt McAndrew to Headline Pop Break’s 3rd Annual Locals Christmas Party

Pop Break is excited to announce its third annual Locals Christmas Party and Charity Toy Drive will take place on Saturday December 8. The concert, which begins at 8 p.m., takes place in the Grand Arcade of Convention Hall in Asbury Park, New Jersey.

As with tradition, the show takes place on the stage in front of the massive Christmas tree inside the Arcade. The show is free to the public. However, we do strongly implore you to bring a new, unwrapped toy (size and price do not matter) to donate at the show. These toys will be collected as part of the Asbury Park Police Department’s Toy Drive. Those bringing a toy will be entered for a chance to win some prizes such as concert tickets, and a ton more.

Here’s the official Facebook event.

Matt McAndrew: Longtime ally of the site, Matt McAndrew will be making his Asbury Park debut. The 28 year old singer-songwriter, who hails from Long Beach Island, made a huge splash on the national scene when he finished as the runner-up on Season 7 of NBC’s The Voice. As a member of Adam Levine’s team, McAndrew ended up with one of the highest-selling singles by any cast member of the season with 2014’s “Wasted Love.” McAndrew recently dropped the love-fueled anthem, ‘Game Over.’

Rachel Ana Dobken: Rachel Ana Dobken embodies the word rad (which is also the acronym for her name). She’s a singer, a songwriter, a drummer, guitarist, and pianist. She just dropper her killer new album, When It Happens to You, in October, and has garnered praise from everyone from Relix to Substream. You can often finding her jamming at Danny Clinch’s Transparent Gallery as a part of the “High Anxiety Blues Band.”

Bone & Marrow: The uniquely eclectic duo is one of the Asbury scene’s most must-see acts. Incorporating loops, jazz flute, wild costumage, and an undeniable groove, Bone & Marrow produces a wonderful music experience that appeals to lovers of psych, indie, folks and New Wave. The band recently dropped an acoustic version of their song ‘Building the Nerve’ in time for Election Day.

Mike Pellegrino of latewaves: latewaves tore the house down when they performed at last year’s Locals Christmas. This year, lead singer Mike Pellegrino gives a special (and rare) solo acoustic show featuring all the latewaves songs you love, and some new ones. The band recently dropped a three single series known as Broken Bird Singles Collection.

Taylor Allen: Asbury Park’s favorite comedian (or so he’s paid us to say … we’re kidding he has no money) will once again serve as the host for Locals Christmas Party. Taylor enjoys brisk walks in the sand, dance contests, and being the co-host of The Calling the Shots Podcast.

You must be 21+ to drink, but this show is all ages. Food and drink are available at The Anchor’s Bend.
