Monday Night RAW in Kansas City: Becky Lynch is The Man

This week’s RAW starts off with a short video honoring Veterans Day.

After the video, we see a ring full of wrestlers fighting a Tag Team Battle Royal. The winners of the match would become captains of the Raw Survivor Series Tag team. Braun Strowman walks to the ring and takes out the other wrestlers one by one. The other competitors decide to try and team up against him, but he’s too strong for all of them. He clears out what was once a full ring of people. Braun takes one of the steel chairs, sits himself in the middle of the ring and calls out Baron Corbin saying he won’t leave the ring till they fight.

Stephanie McMahon makes her way to the ring and tells Braun that he can’t hold RAW hostage. She tells Braun that he better give a damn about Survivors Series and the face Braun made is priceless. Braun tells Stephanie that he just wants to fight Baron and get it over with. After some back and forth, Stephanie agrees the Braun can fight Baron, and also get another Universal Championship title match against Brock Lesnar, the one condition is that Braun can’t fight Corbin until after Survivor Series.

Ronda Rousey makes her way out to the ring. As usual, Ronda squares up with Stephanie. She pulls the mic from Steph’s hand and tells her to hold the pep talk. Although Ronda admitted to being excited about fighting Becky Lynch, she still went to square up with Stephanie, seeming eager to fight anyone. Baron Corbin used this opportunity to make his way to the ring, especially with the protection clause that Stephanie set for him. It looked like Braun was doing everything in his power to not attack Baron. Meanwhile, Corbin tells Ronda not to be too confident and Ronda slams him to the ground. Braun gets in Corbin’s face, calls him Stephanie’s lap dog, and threatens to neuter him after Survivor Series.

Ember Moon’s match against Tamina, with Nia Jax on the sidelines. Tamina and Nia have teamed up since last week where they double-teamed Ember Moon. Tamina attempts to pin Ember multiple times, but to no avail. Ember dove out of the ring to attack Nia Jax, and Nia didn’t even flinch when Ember collided with her. Tamina regained control of the match and pinned Ember with a frog splash. Nia Jax starts attacking Ember while she’s down, after the match has been called.

Corey Graves is standing in the middle of the ring and calls Seth Rollins into the ring. He says he’d like to talk to Seth about Survivor Series. He asks how mentally prepared Seth is to fight Shinsuke Nakamura. Seth says on Sunday he’ll be laser focused on Nakamura, but tonight is different.

Tonight, Seth wants answers to why Dean Ambrose did what he did. He claims that Ambrose isn’t man enough to come out and tell him why. They look at the prompter and Dean Ambrose is sitting outside on a bright red car next to a steel drum that has fire in it. Dean said he used to think the Shield made him stronger, but he figured out that being in the Shield made him week. He took his Shield vest, doused it in gasoline, and threw it into the steel drum, then walked off screen. Rollins seemed to get very upset, he threw his mic down and stormed out of the ring.

Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre made his way to the ring. Drew starts talking about all the damage he did to Kurt Angle during last week’s match. Finn Balor comes out to interrupt McIntyre’s promo. Balor tells McIntyre he crossed the line last week by humiliating Kurt Angle. McIntyre replies that Balor’s really mad because he beat up Balor during Balor’s match with Bobby Lashley last week. Balor cuts McIntyre off and challenges him to a match, McIntyre replies that Balor can have a match, but not against him, Balor will have to face off against Dolph Ziggler. McIntyre catches Balor with a surprise headbutt and knocks out Balor.

Dolph Ziggler has control of the match for most of the match. He attempts to pin Finn a few times, but Finn is able to kick out each time. Finn lands a chop against Ziggler’s chest and starts to turn it around. Finn landed a stomp to Dolph’s midsection and attempted a pin, but it got kicked out at 2. Balor goes to land a final attack but Ziggler catches him off guard and spiked Balor down. Ziggler attempted another pin on Balor but failed. After a few more hits, Ziggler attempted another pin. Finn went for a coup de grace, but Ziggler turned that around and attempted to pin Finn. Finn Balor turned it around and landed a reversal and got the pin on Ziggler.

Stephanie invites Finn Balor to be part of the RAW Survivor Series team on Sunday. She also reveals that Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre will also be part of the team. After confirming the team, she told the 3 men not to tear each other apart until after Survivor Series was over. Between Braun going after Baron Corbin, and Finn Balor fighting Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler, the time after Survivor Series seems like it’s going to be a bloodbath.

Ronda Rousey calls out Becky Lynch. Something she says that is particularly impactful is that she’s upset that the leader of the women’s championship, who is supposed to be representing the Women’s division, is calling herself The Man.

The Riott Squad makes their way to the ring. Ruby Riott said she would like to apologize for what she did last week, in regard to breaking Natalya’s father’s sunglasses. Ruby starts talking about how important Jim the Anvil Neidhart was to the WWE universe. She said that she understands why she got the backlash she did.

Ruby then did the classic heel move and said she loved everything about what she did. Natalya’s music starts to play and she appears behind Ruby and starts wailing on her. After a short moment, Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan held Natalya down while Ruby performed Jim the Anvil Neidhart’s signature move on Natalya. They truly just have added insult to injury.

The tag team Battle Royale is back in place after the interruption by Braun earlier. The Revival gets knocked out by the B-Team first. The Lucha House Party got knocked out and was shortly followed by the B-Team who also got knocked out. Chad Gable and Bobby Roode along with the Ascension were the only tag teams remaining. Chad work really well against the Ascension. Chad Gable and Bobby Roode win the honor of being captains for the tag team match during survivor series.

Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman head into the ring. Paul Heyman starts his normal spiel about how great Brock Lesnar is. He congratulated Braun Strowman for almost being the Universal Champion. He also congratulated Braun Strowman for getting another title opportunity by playing hardball with the management. Heyman than started talking about Lesnar’s upcoming Survivor Series match. “There is no one that Brock Lesnar wants to take to Suplex City more than AJ Styles this Sunday at Survivor Series.”

He said Brock Lesnar will be the champion of all champions. Jinder Mahal made his way out and addressed Paul Heyman. Jinder told Lesnar not to underestimate AJ Styles. After sharing some solid advice, Jinder insists on sharing his mantra with Brock. Paul Heyman thinks it was a joke, but Brock Lesnar plays along with Jinder, who entered the ring. They close their eyes, take deep breaths, and start chanting “Shanti.” After a few times of doing that, Brock Lesnar attacks Jinder Mahal and the Singh brothers repeatedly.

Bobby Lashley and Lio Rush are in the ring wearing sunglasses. Leo talks about what a phenomenal specimen Bobby Lashley is. Bobby does a ton of poses, showing off his muscles, and then bends over so his butt is facing the audience. The two men’s laughter is cut off by the strum of Elias’ guitar. Elias is sitting on a stool that’s halfway down the entrance ramp. Elias pretends to be on the phone with child protective services and mocks how young Lio is.

After some more back and forth, Elias and Bobby start their match. The winner of this match will be on the RAW men’s Survivor Series team. The match seemed to be going in Bobby’s favor, but Elias was starting to turn it around. Bobby knocked Elias out of the ring, and a count-out countdown started. In the last few seconds, Lio Rush held Elias’s legs, without the ref seeing, so Elias could not enter the ring and lost via count-out.

Alexa Bliss and Mickie James walk out with Nia Jax and Tamina.

Alexa is Captain of the Women’s RAW Survivor Series Team. Alexa announces that the team consists of Natalya, Mickey James, Nia Jax, and Tamina, but she needs one more. Someone who’s willing to do anything to win. The winner of the upcoming match will be the final member of RAW’s women’s Survivor Series team. Sasha Banks vs.Bayley. Alexa Bliss pitting two best friends against each other for high stakes.

The match starts, and Bayley and Sasha Banks are fairly evenly matched. Sasha starts dishing out some low blows, like slamming Bayley’s legs into the turnbuckle. The crowd seems to be rooting for Bayley. Bailey performed a Bailey to Belly on the apron. Sasha has a bank statement locked on Bailey and Tamina, Mickey, and Nia jumped in and started attacking the two girls, which ended the match. Alexa announced that since neither of them won, she was going to make Ruby Riott the 5th member of the Women’s RAW Survivor Series Team. I barely had time to be confused about that transition when they showed a clip from backstage.

Becky Lynch was backstage, and she had Ronda Rousey locked in a terrible arm bar. Or, at least, I can assume it was terrible based on the sounds of Ronda’s screams. Becky’s intro music plays as she walks out and approaches the ring filled with seven of RAW’s own women. All of a sudden, out of nowhere, all of the SmackDown women appear and flank the 7 RAW women in the ring. Mandy Rose, Sonya Deville, the Iconics, Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, Naomi, Asuka, Lana, etc. At some point within this brawl, Becky’s face started bleeding, which made her look even more menacing than she already did.

Ronda RUNS into the ring and starts attacking the Smackdown women with one arm. Becky sneaks up to her from behind and attacks Ronda with a steel chair. The Smackdown women leave and before Becky is completely out of the stadium, she looks back at the snarling, twitching, Ronda Rousey.

Backstage, Stephanie McMahon and Baron Corbin are freaking out. She’s yelling at him for dropping the ball on allowing them to sneak in and attack their team. They don’t come up with a solution to fix this scenario during the episode, but this definitely caused tension between the two.
