Sasquatch Detective story follows Tonya Lightfoot and her Sasquatch family. Here we learn all bout squatch culture. Where they live, how they harass humans, and what happens when they die. Insider secrets if you will. And, they’re portrayed hilariously. Everyone needs an origin story, Tonya included.
And, of course as Tonya grows up she becomes her own person with her own goals and dreams. She eventually has to leave home to accomplish these things. She’s inspired by some heroes on TV and decides to make her way to becoming a Detective. But, how does an illusive creature leave the forest to pursue her dreams? Well, Stilwell came up with a very inventive way of travel for the young Sasquatch.
Once Tonya gets to California we get a new tale within the book that follows her adventures. This is the part where readers get to see all the fun things and accomplishments Tonya has made the last year. She very quickly rose through ranks to become a Detective.
There are five tales in this special that are all about the lovely Tonya. Each tale in Sasquatch Detective is hilarious and shows just how much of an individual Tonya is. I loved this comic for that reason. Sometimes people feel shamed for being different from others. But, being different is something that should be treasured. And, Tonya does a great job of conveying this.
