A group of friends are bound for a horror-themed Halloween event at a local amusement park — a sprawling labyrinth of rides, games, and mazes that travels the country and happens to be in town. But for one visitor, the ghoulish carnival of nightmares is not the attraction — it is a hunting ground. On the night the friends attend, a masked serial killer turns the amusement park into his own playground, terrorizing attendees while the rest of the patrons believe that it is all part of the show. As the body count and frenzied excitement of the crowd continues to rise, who will fight to survive the night?
Hell Fest was 2018’s most underrated horror gem. The film stars a whole bunch of people you have probably never seen before, with the exception of Bex Taylor-Klaus of MTV’s Scream, who is arguably the best part of the movie. Since you don’t know any of the actors, you don’t care if any of them die and actually find yourself dying to see how the killer is going to pick each person off. There is one scene involving a syringe and I wont ruin it for anybody, but it is pretty gnarly.

Hell Fest delivers some gory fun, solid laughs and plenty of jump scares in an environment where they actually belong. Are you genuinely terrified during the movie? No, but the jump scares make you feel like you are there at the haunt, giving you a taste of the Hell Fest experience.
In terms of bonus features, Hell Fest only includes an exclusive, never-before-seen featurette- “Thrills and Kills: Making Hell Fest.” Let’s be honest though, you’re not buying the movie for the bonus features.
