Pop Break Live: Pigeons Playing Ping Pong at The Paramount Theater in Asbury Park

Pigeons Playing Ping Pong might not be from Asbury Park, New Jersey — but they sure as hell feel like one of us.
The Baltimore, MD born, high energy jam-funk outfit, returned to the city that Bruce Built in late January for a two-night run at the legendary Paramount Theatre. (Editor’s Note: The shows were originally scheduled for The Stone Pony but due to construction on the venue, it was moved down the street to the boardwalk’s iconic theatre).
This is the second winter in a row that PPPP have jammed in AP, and their infectious grooves have become a favorite amongst the Jersey Shore faithful. Their wild stage presence injected with copious amounts of levity fits right into the Asbury scene perfectly. You can tell from the first note to the final jam that they love what they’re doing and that positivity radiated out to the chilly Asbury crowd (literally a freezing two nights).
The band ripped through tracks off their most recently released record Pizazz as well as their back catalog — a collection of tunes that has helped them ascend the ranks as of the premier jam outfits in the country.
