Ahoy, indie rock fans! The best festival lineup in years just dropped and it’s practically heavenly.
Goldenvoice has announced the first year of Just Like Heaven, a one-day rock festival taking place at Queen Mary Park in Long Beach, California on May 4th. For fans of KROQ, Alt 98.7, and the now-dead Indie 103.1 radio stations, this lineup is truly a dream come true.
Despite only lasting one day, Just Like Heaven boasts four incredible headliners – Phoenix, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, MGMT, and Beach House – and indie darlings Grizzly Bear, the Rapture, Miike Snow, and Passion Pit, who will be celebrating the 10-year anniversary of their seminal record Manners. SoCal locals She Wants Revenge and Shiny Toy Guns are included on the billing, as well as STRFKR, The Faint, Peter Bjorn & John, Tokyo Police Club, Neon Indian, and Ra Ra Riot.
Unsurprisingly, the festival sold out in record time, with only some fans nabbing the $99 early-bird GA pricing. When even the VIP passes are gone by the first day, you know this festival is going to be amazing. Despite all tickets selling out, Just Like Heaven deserves a tip of the hat for providing both payment plans for tickets and an official ticket exchange for fans who might change their mind closer to the festival date. If you missed out on tickets, adding your name to the exchange could automatically put you in line for your own – nice!
For those who haven’t visited Queen Mary Park, a gorgeous view of the Long Beach shore and inevitably a gorgeous early-summer sunset is in store for the crowd of thousands. We’re almost certain Just Like Heaven is a pretty apt name for a day truly out of this world.
