Pop Break Live: The Revivalists at The Beacon Theater in New York City
One of the hottest bands in the country right now — The Revivalists — brought their blend of alt rock tinged with jam band sensibilities to The Beacon Theater on a frigid January night.
The band ripped through their collection of hits, and treated the crowd to a two-encore set which included a cover of The Allman Brothers’ classic, ‘Whipping Post.’

“It’s Rob Ingraham on the saxophone!” said David Shaw, giving the band’s saxphonist a little playful hit on the arm, in shyness. Of course Ingraham would have no shyness moving through the crowd playing a sweet sax solo.
“Anyone know if this is Roman, Greek, Spartan? Haha Whichever it is, you’re so lucky to have this place, right in the heart of NYC!”
“When we first wrote this song, and we started getting messages from others about what it meant to other people – like “I never knew my mother or father growing up” or “I wish I had more time with this or that person…” All different situations I didn’t even think about when writing this song. So thank you, to everyone who has heard this song and connected in a different way. This next song is called ‘Wish I Knew You.’”
