Words & Photos by Patsy Thayieng
First Avenue is a notorious and historic venue. Put on the map by the late great Prince this venue is deeply cherished by the people of the twin cities.
A 1,500 capacity venue First Avenue is the perfect venue for any good to great musician to sell out. In fact, having frequented the venue numerous times (as a fan and for Pop Break), it’s a sight to this venue sold out and rocking.
However, it’s even more special when an artist not only sells it out but fills it with a joyous and kind almost contagious energy — which is exactly what Jess Glynne did.
With her honest lyrics, infectious beats and unique voice, Glynne has garnered quite the following in the States, which can be challenging for artists from across the pond. All that paired with her powerful stage presence can only equal a good time and great show. In addition to her live band, Glynne had three backup singers who matched her energy exactly. T
he crowd was so receptive of her and her band, everyone on the floor was dancing and singing along, even folks off to the side were dancing in their respective circles. Jess Glynne makes engaging and candid music paired with her high energy presence, in her live shows, she has created a welcoming space for those who resonate with her message.
