Cage the Elephant Plays Intimate Set at ‘Social Cues’ Album Release Party

Pop Break Live: Cage the Elephant – ‘Social Cues’ Album Release Party

Cage the Elephant’s latest record, Social Cues, is one of the most hotly anticipated rock records of 2019. To celebrate the album’s release the band teamed with Radio 104.5 to create a special, intimate show for diehard fans of the band.

The event took place at Victory Beer Hall which is located inside XFinity Live! in Philadelphia. According to the station, Cage the Elephant handpicked Philadelphia to be their home base for the record release party.

Social Cues was played in front of the intimate audience — who received exclusive admission via winning tickets through Radio 104.5. The crowd was super into the record, and once it concluded they were given two more reasons to be excited about the night.

Radio 104.5’s DJ Amber Miller came out and interviewed the band. After the interview Cage the Elephant ripped into an eight song set including five from Social Cues.

Lead singer Matt Shultz oozed charisma throughout his performance. Shultz really seems to have the soul of a poet. There’s something about his performance, and his lyricism that’s so intelligent and captivating.

While this was a small show with a limited setlist — this is hands down the best show I’ve attended in 2019. Definitely go catch Cage the Elephant next time they’re in your area.
