Nominated for Best Picture were: An American in Paris, Decision Before Dawn, A Place in the Sun, Quo Vadis, A Street Car Named Desire. Winning individual awards were: Humphrey Bogart (The African Queen), Vivien Leigh (A Street Car Named Desire), Karl Malden (A Street Car Named Desire), Kim Hunter (A Street Car Named Desire), and George Stevens (A Place in the Sun).
