Hometown 1 – Peter – Westlake Village, CA
The Bachelorette Season 15 Episode 9 begins with Hannah and Petering meet in a field of flowers and Peter is so excited. They get in his car and Hannah was going through Peter’s glove compartment and found a condom, which extremely flustered him. Of course, he drives her to a small, two-passenger, propeller plane where he tells her that they’re going for a flight together. They flew over The Bachelor mansion, which was pretty cool. He then flew over his parents’ house and they did a shot where they showed his parents waving to the plane and it was very sweet. Peter admits to the camera that he needs his parent’s validation because they are the most important people to him.
Hannah gets to meet Peter’s father (Peter), his mother (Barbara), and his brother (Jack). They seem like a very warm and cozy family as they welcome her with hugs. They do a German toast before eating a Cuban meal and Peter gives a wonderful toast about being with her. Jack steals Hannah first to talk with her.
He asks her if they talked about being in love with each other and although Hannah said no, she said she saw them being on track to get there. While Peter talks to his mom, he admits that he hasn’t told her that he loves her yet because he knows that three other guys are in the picture. But he said he found his person, and the mother hugs him and cries. Barbara talks to Hannah and admits that she’s scared about Hannah hurting him because she’s dating three other guys. Hannah reassures his mother that she wouldn’t have gotten this far with Peter if she didn’t think it would go far.
Peter’s family is very sweet and cute. I could see Hannah loving to live in this kind of environment. At the end of the date, Peter wants to tell Hannah that he’s in love with her, but he has trouble doing it. He said watching the cab drive away he regretted not telling her and he hoped it wouldn’t be too late.
Hometown 2 – Tyler – Jupiter, FL
Tyler’s hometown date on The Bachelorette Season 15 Episode 9 starts on a boat with Tyler and Hannah rubbing each other all over with suntan lotion. The water is so blue, and everything is stunning. They drive up to the house that Tyler grew up in then go for a date along the water. Peter drove Hannah on a plane, and Tyler drove Hannah on a boat, too bad Luke is just going to drive Hannah crazy!
Hannah meets Tyler’s dad who’s sick and doesn’t seem to be doing well. His father’s voice is rough because he has trouble with his vocal cords. Tyler seemed pretty concerned about his father’s health and he wants to get married and have children before anything happens to his father. Tyler’s friends mention to Hannah that he is ready to get married. Tyler tells his mother that he’s ready to propose to Hannah. And while Hannah talks to Tyler’s dad, he tells her that she would have all of their love and support. Tyler says goodbye to her and admits that saying goodbye is the hardest thing to do for her.
Hometown 3 – Luke – Gainesville, GA
Hannah compares Luke to a jigsaw puzzle, that she has the corners down but doesn’t have the middle figured out. Luke brings Hannah to Sunday school, which is something that he does before church every week. He tells his shower/God story. For those of you who don’t know, Luke was going down a bad path and God visited him while he was in the shower and lead him down the right path. They break into smaller groups and Hannah asks people about him and everyone only had nice things to say.
This is the closest that Hannah feels to Luke in a long time. She meets Luke’s father, mother, brother, sister in law, and grandmother. They start telling the story about Luke in the house and Hannah is just going on and on about all the crap that was going on in the house with Luke. I can’t imagine the family got the best impression while Hannah said something along the line of how she was putting up with him.
While Luke’s father talks to him, he references God a lot and it seems like religion is a HUGE part of their whole family’s life. Luke’s whole family seems in disbelief when Hannah describes his actions in the house. They say that isn’t how Luke normally is, and maybe it isn’t. It’s possible that the pressures of the house and the cameras really could have gotten under his skin and made him act differently. It’s a shame because his family and friends really seem to think the world of him, but he really came off like a jerk throughout the show.
Luke apologizes to Hannah for being such a struggle throughout the season. Luke told her that he loved her, and they had a deep make out session. She mentions that her heart fluttered when he said it and she is beaming on the limo ride home and said she’s falling in love with him. I’m upset because I know that he’s going home during fantasy suites, because they SHOWED us the fight they have when he asks her if she had slept with the other men. It’s the fight where she says, “Jesus still loves me.” I’m pretty upset with the show for not allowing me to experience that fight organically, because as a viewer I would have thought that Luke had potential to win after this episode. I feel like I’m watching it with too much information.
Hometown 4 – Jed – Knoxville, TN
Of course, Jed brings Hannah to a recording studio for their date. I would have bet all the money in my bank that he was going to do a date where he can play an instrument for her and advance his music career further. They write and sing a song together, and Hannah is putty in Jed’s hands. This is the episode where we learn as an audience that Hannah can’t sing. This date is so slow and boring to watch. Jed tells Hannah that he loves her, and they make out.
They meet with Jed’s mom, dad, and sister, as well as his grandparents. Most importantly, they have a border collie named Tux who can jump right into Jed’s arms. All of Jed’s family is gorgeous. You know how there’s always one family in hometowns who have concerns about the whole Bachelor/Bachelorette process? This season, Jed’s family is that family. His father can’t wrap his head around the whole thing. Hannah’s mom tells her that Jed is ‘just another guy’ because Hannah is dating a bunch of other guys.
When Hannah tells Jed’s mother that Jed’s different, Jed’s mom said “Do you say that to all of them?” and Jed’s mom even told Hannah that she doesn’t think that he’s ready to get engaged. That set off some flags for Hannah, so she went to talk to Jed’s sister. Meanwhile Jed’s sister tells Hannah that she doesn’t think Jed falling in love with Hannah is a good thing. Jed’s family really seems guarded against Hannah and doesn’t seem accepting of her. While Hannah is saying goodbye to the family it sounds like she’s holding back tears.
They say goodbye and Hannah realizes that if they become committed, either their relationship or his music will suffer in the process of him following his dreams.
Rose Ceremony
Hannah really seems to struggle because she feels like she’s in a great spot to all the men. She said there’s no clear runner in her head, and no one who is particularly falling behind.
The list of men who receive roses:
🌹 Peter
🌹 Tyler
Prior to giving out the last rose, Hannah really seems to be struggling and she steps out of the room. She said it felt like she was ending a relationship that wasn’t ready to be ended. It was at that moment that I had a feeling that both men were going to get roses. Lo and behold, Chris Harrison brought out an additional rose and allowed BOTH men to stay for fantasy suites.
🌹 Luke
🌹 Jed
Sent home:
NO ONE!
Next week is fantasy suites where we get to watch Luke dig his own grave. We also get to watch Jed implode after almost being sent home compared to Luke.
