Hellboy is back, and he’s on fire. From the pages of Mike Mignola’s seminal work, this action-packed story sees the legendary half-demon superhero (David Harbour) called to the English countryside to battle a trio of rampaging giants. There he discovers The Blood Queen, Nimue (Milla Jovovich), a resurrected ancient sorceress thirsting to avenge a past betrayal. Suddenly caught in a clash between the supernatural and the human, Hellboy is now hell-bent on stopping Nimue without triggering the end of the world.

The question is, should you take Hellboy home with you?
Well, if you are really into special features, there aren’t many to choose from, but the thre-part documentary was interesting to watch. There aren’t many deleted scenes either, so I wouldn’t let the bonus features sway your decision to purchase.
The movie itself is hit or miss, depending on the fan. It seems that the fans of the Guillermo Del Toro and Ron Perlman Hellboy left the theater disappointed, while those who are new to the series felt differently. Either way, I am a strong supporter of making your own decision on films. Not everyone will have the same opinion and their opinion isn’t any more valid than yours. My recommendation would be to rent the film on digital first and see how you feel about it. If you love it, grab that Blu-ray for your collection and enjoy it as often as you would like. If you end up not liking it, you gave it a shot, helped support a film and saved yourself the cost of the home release.
