Chris Harrison described the proposal as “cringeworthy” in retrospect.

The Bachelorette Season 15 Season Finale Part 2 started off as you would expect, Hannah explained how she got to this point in the show. She talked about her relationship with the two men remaining, and as she was talking, the cameras showed the men picking out the engagement rings that they would propose to Hannah with. Tyler picked out a big princess cut ring because he said it’s “loud and proud,” the same as Hannah. Jed picked out an oval ring and attempted to make a statement about how the ring was like his love for her, being continuous.

In the limo that was heading toward the proposal area, Hannah asked for the car to be stopped and she got out. She walked away from the car and tripped on the side of a street. A producer ran to her aid, and she told a producer that she really couldn’t do this. She just started crying in the street and all the audience could hear was birds chirping and other background noise. After a few deep breaths, she gots back into the car and headed to the proposal site.

Unfortunately, Tyler got out of the first van, and as we all know, that meant he was going to be sent home. Tyler made a beautiful speech to Hannah, and at some point, Hannah had to cut him off. I don’t think she could muster hearing anymore of his touching words. Hannah mentioned all of the reasons that Tyler would be perfect for her and then said, “I love someone else… I’m sorry.” Tyler said he would still be rooting for her and that he wishes her and Jed nothing but success. It’s at this point that I was choking up. Hannah walked him to the limo, and I watched those big blue eyes well up with tears, and it broke my heart.

Of course, Jed got out of the limo WITH HIS FUCKIGN GUITAR! Because everything is just a gig to him! Jed started spewing some lines at her and of course… he started to sing because “talking is hard for me sometimes.” And I watched as Hannah was falling for the shit that he was dishing out to her. After his song, Hannah spoke about how she’s been praying for this moment for a long time and how she’s been praying for him. And she loves him “so so much” And then it happened… Jed proposed to Hannah and she said yes. It’s sad because Hannah actually seemed genuinely happy and I know Jed is going to fuck it up.

Chris asked the audience what life has been like for the couple since their engagement. They show a phone video of Jed and Hannah as a lovey-dovey couple. This scene very much reminds me of the video that Becca and Arie made when they were first engaged, and we all remember how that ended… There are numerous scenes shown of the two of them seeming to be very happy together and having a lot of fun.

Things took a turn for the worse. Hannah mentioned that during the second day of being engaged, Jed mentioned that he was seeing a girl before the show, but he said that he broke it off with that girl a week before the show started. Unfortunately for Jed and his lies, Hannah got wind of the People magazine article that exposed other things that Jed did that he didn’t tell Hannah, and she is not happy about it. So, the show brought us right into the conversation between Jed and Hannah. (I’m still picking up on those Arie/Becca vibes.)

They sit down together, and Hannah seems really pissed that he lied to her, and rightfully so. Hannah asked him to be as blunt with her as she was being with him. Here’s a list of the shitty things that Jed confessed to Hannah:

  • Jed said that the girl he was with wasn’t exclusive, but he spent the most time with her.
  • He mentioned that he was also hooking up with other girls at the time he was with this not-girlfriend.
  • This not-girlfriend went on two separate vacations with Jed.
  • The not-girlfriend met his parents.
  • He originally only went on the show to promote his music career, and that’s also what he told his not-girlfriend.
  • He told his not-girlfriend that he loved her.
  • He texted his not-girlfriend that he loved her on the DAY he left to be on The Bachelorette.
  • He slept with his not-girlfriend the day before he left to be on the show.
  • After Hannah visited during hometowns, that night Jed had other women over to his house.
  • He bragged to his friends that “he won” on The Bachelorette.

By the end of the conversation, Hannah was choking up because Jed’s shitty actions would affect her future. She said she felt like this experience was taken away from her, since she was lied to through the whole experience with him. She called Jed selfish and said all her decisions were tainted. The audience was holding their breath to see if Hannah calls off the engagement. She took the ring off and placed it on the coffee table.

It’s at this point that I think Luke would have been a better choice for Hannah than Jed. Now, I know a lot of you just made a disgusted face while reading that sentence but hear me out. All Hannah wanted was someone who loved her unconditionally and didn’t lie to her. And Luke may have been crazy and wrong in his own ways, but he truly loved Hannah and I imagine he would have been way more truthful than Jed was.

Hannah joined Chris Harrison on stage and the crowd is shouting about how much they love her. She mentioned that she took the People magazine article and circled things in the article and sent it to Jed. Chris Harrison asked where her relationship stood now, and she said that she was not with Jed anymore.

As a quick aside, I can’t stop staring at Hannah’s rhinestone triangle earrings which look like beautiful bedazzled slices of pizza.

Jed walks out to an audience of maybe only 2 or 3 people clapping. Ouch. Hannah didn’t seem like she wanted to get up, but she got up and hugged him. He apologized to her again and she was holding the most stoic face while listening to all his bullshit. Jed was pleading guilty and just admitting how wrong he was about everything he did and everything he should have done. Chris Harrison stepped in and asked why he didn’t come clean to her.

Apparently, Jed was scared about how she would react to it and he was afraid to lose her. Chris asked Hannah what was going through her mind and she said she appreciated his apology, and she knew it hadn’t been easy for him or his family, but she did fall in love with him and she knew that person was still in there but she hoped that he would be honest moving forward.

Chris asked Jed how he felt about Hannah now, and he mentioned that his feelings for her hadn’t changed since they originally got engaged. Hannah admitted that her feelings were broke while she was going through that whole ordeal. She said no relationship should start on a bed of lies. Chris said to them “I’m sorry for both of you” in regard to that neither one of them were happy.

After Jed left the stage, Hannah mentioned that she was really proud of the woman she had become because she’s “Hella strong” and that she doesn’t need a husband in her life to be happy. And I know she said that, but I can’t help but remember how much she wanted to be engaged by the end of this whole thing, and I can’t help but hurt for her. Chris Harrison asked Hannah what it would be like to see Tyler again, and she had this huge smile on her face before she answered. She hadn’t seen him since the day she ended her relationship with him, but she mentioned that she did still have feelings for him.

Tyler comes out from the back and he gets a standing ovation from a roaring audience. Tyler said he was looking forward to this day. He watched the season after he was sent home, and he was rooting her on, and he was so proud of her. He mentioned that he was in full support of her with Jed because he he knew she was in good hands. He also mentioned that he was so impressed at how well she handled herself after everything that happened with Jed. The audience was melting, I was melting, Tyler is pure sugar he’s so damn sweet. Hannah mentioned that when it came to Tyler, he’s been so supportive and respectful of her.

She knew their relationship was real and special which begged the question, why didn’t she choose him in the first place?! She said she wants someone who is bold and makes bold moves, because she makes bold moves, and she asked him out on a date for a drink. And Tyler said, “I would love to.” Chris Harrison said “We can ship this” which is a fantastic way to end the The Bachelorette Season 15 Season Finale Part 2. They also showed a more extended preview of Bachelor in Paradise which starts on Monday! Be sure to tune in!

Final Thoughts on Bachelorette Season 15 Finale Part 2

I started this season really excited for Hannah to be the Bachelorette. I knew she was going to bring something different to the table that no prior bachelorette brought. I wasn’t wrong with that assumption, but I was still let down. I feel it was too often that Hannah made bad choices, and it was only after she got really hurt from those bad choices that she learned.

For example, Luke was giving her trouble maybe five weeks before she finally kicked him off the show, and she only did it after he pushed her past her breaking point. Hannah’s parents both liked Tyler more than Jed and gave concrete reasoning why they felt that way, but that didn’t seem to be enough for Hannah. It just felt like she was a bit immature based on the decisions she made. And I feel like if she made different choices earlier on in the show, it would have changed the outcome of the whole thing.

The Bachelorette Season 15 Finale Part 2 will air on Hulu.
