Breaking Bad (AMC – 2008-2013)
One of the greatest drama series of the modern era, perhaps of all time, Breaking Bad gave television viewers everything we could ever want and then some. Enraptured doesn’t even come close to how we felt watching the journey of terminally ill chemistry teacher and family man Walter White (Bryan Cranston) transforming into meth cooker and drug kingpin.
Series head honcho Vince Gilligan formulated a recipe of elite writing, directing and performances that had fans more hooked and addicted than a fresh batch of “Heisenberg” blue sky meth. Cranston delivered the goods nonstop and won four Emmy awards for his multi-dimensional anti-hero, which has become a TV icon and the defining role of his career.
From incredible start to heartbreaking finish, Breaking Bad remains a landmark piece of entertainment that few shows (and movies) can ever touch.
