This Packed Funeral by The World/Friendship Inferno Society

For years, I looked for a band that captured the magic present in The Vincent Black Shadows’ Fears In the Water and El Monstruo albums, but nothing came close. Until I heard Jack Terricloth’s voice sing, “You look like someone someone else would find attractive. How’s that work?”

Those lyrics come from “Dolce Far Niente” off of The World/Inferno Friendship Society’s sixth full length album, This Packed Funeral. Instantly, I was hooked and wondered where has this band – technically musical collective – been my whole life.

Every song on This Packed Funeral is catchy, clever, unique, and a little dark. There is no other band in the world that mixes punk, jazz, cabaret, klezmer, and more quite like The World/Friendship Inferno Society. Even though this album came out in 2014, it never gets old or boring.
