The Governors Balls Music Festival is one of the most hotly anticipated music festivals on the Eastern Seaboard.
The festival is celebrating its 10th anniversary, and it’s wild to think how this festival has evolved since being a one-day show on Governors Island in New York. We were there, and it was a great day seeing acts like Big Boi, and the late Mac Miller performing.
Today, the official Governors Ball 2020 lineup was officially announced, and it is the stuff all Spotify playlists are made. The lineup is a diverse curation of music spanning all forms of genres, and generations. Headlining the June 5-7 festival include: electronic megastars Tame Impala, hip-hop icon Missy “Misdemeanor” Elliott, New York alt hipsters Vampire Weekend, pop star Miley Cyrus, R&B star Solange, and the voice of classic rock, Stevie Nicks.
The rest of the lineup is dizzying mix of genres with mashup legend Girl Talk, country star Maren Morris, pop singers Ellie Goulding, Carly Rae Jepsen and Alessia Cara, alt staples Of Monsters and Men, Portugal. the Man, and Bleachers, as well as two burgeoning Jersey acts – Pinegrove and A R I Z O N A.
