These days, it’s all about silver linings. For us creatives, we find ourselves in a unique position where we not only have the time to focus on our art, but to use our platforms to spread messages of love, change, unity, and hope. Jersey rockers, Morningside Lane
are doing exactly that with the release of their new single, “Glass Skin.”

The track itself spreads a powerful message. ‘Glass Skin’ is a song about liberation. The character is coming out of a bad place,” comments frontman and songwriter, Marc Del Giudice.

“He realizes that the only way you can be the best version of yourself is to let go of your fears. Trust the process and have faith in yourself.”

Drummer Brian Morelli adds, “The song, especially now in 2020, can stand as a hopeful message that better times are ahead.”

Structurally the song oozes all things Jersey rock, which is no surprise coming from these Jersey boys. The track also gave me a lot of U2 vibes as I really dig the guitar tones. As always Morelli’s beats are on point with this Hi-Hat driven smooth disco/dance beat that moves the song along. Lyrically, the song hits me as completely heartfelt and genuine, which to me is everything. I’ve seen the boys play this one live at The Wonder Bar, and it is fantastic.

Not only are we being treated to this fresh single, but today the band also announced the release of their first full length album set for September 4, 2020. The album is entitled, These Are Our Years. Additionally, fans can expect the second single from the album to be released later next month.

“Glass Skin” is available now on all streaming platforms. In consistency with the band’s goal to bring about change, all of the proceeds from their Bandcamp site will go towards #CampaignZero in an effort to end police violence.
