It’s the 13th episode of the Socially Distanced Podcast…so why not bring our favorite guest back to the podcast — Pop Break’s Music Editor, Kat Manos.
Joining Kat on this episode (once again) will be Pop Break film contributor, Cole Rothacker, live from their “studio” in California … just a few minutes north of Hollywood. Hence, the name of the episode.
Cole and Kat join Bill and Al to discuss major happenings in Hollywood — in particular the Academy Awards. It was announced that the Best Picture Category will have a definite 10 nominees (a change from potentially 10). They also discuss the proposed changes the Academy is proposing to increase diversity in its diversity — and if the Academy will follow through with it.
Cole and Al speak about the passing of DC Comics’ icon and Batman creator Denny O’Neil. Kat talks about one of he favorite directors David Fincher and his upcoming film Mank, starring Gary Oldman, which hits Netflix later this year. They also touch upon the silly new trailer for the Will Ferrell/Rachel McAdams Netflix film, Eurovision.
And, since this is the 13th episode, Bill regales the group with his story of the time he met Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) in New York City.
