Welcome to Live, Laugh and Lovey — a brand new podcast on the Pop Break TV network.
This podcast is anchored by Lovey McPherson and every week on Wednesdays and Fridays, you’ll be hearing right here on Pop Break talking about her favorite (and least favorite) televisions shows with her friends.
And this isn’t another recap show. As Lovey has said on her YouTube Page — if you’re tired of boring recap of your favorite shows, then welcome to the BEST episode recaps. In the past this podcast has reviewed Insecure, Married at First Sight, GreenLeaf, Queen Sugar, The Chi and more.
This “Debut” episode of Live, Laugh and Lovey looks at the Down Under version of the wildly popular series Married at First Sight — Married at First Sight: Australia (aka MAFS: Australia).
The Married at First Sight phenomenon started in Denmark as Gift Ved Første Blik. The premise is two strangers are matched by “experts” and the couples, on first sight, get married. However, in this series, couples don’t take part in a legal married (due to legalities in Australia) but instead take part in a “commitment ceremony.”
According to Wikipedia, “The couples spend their wedding night in a hotel, then leave for a honeymoon. Upon returning they live together for a period of time, during which they meet at commitment ceremonies and choose whether or not they will continue their relationship.”
In Married at First Sight: Australia Season 7 Episodes 14 and 15 we find that the couples have met their spouse’s friends and family. Who had the harshest critic? And did Connie overreact with her thumbs up emoji?
