After months of successful and safe outdoor indy wrestling events, Titan Championship Wrestling literally raised the bar with their stellar ‘Furious Intentions’ event featuring not one, but two cage matches amongst an already stacked card.
Our opening contest for the night saw a battle of three juggernauts in “The Gargantuan” Foxx Vinyer, and the always impressive Titan Killer. As expected this was a smash mouth hard hitting heavyweight brawl. My pick, the physical specimen that is the Titan Killer won this one with an impressive F-5 variation. Don’t sleep on the Titan Killer as I think big things are ahead.
Up next, two Goddesses of War, Gabby Ortiz and Christina Marie put on a clinic in this amazing bout. I have to say these two ladies in particular have consistently been putting together stellar matches in the Goddesses of War brand with the likes of Holidead and more. I was heavily invested in this crisp match because both competitors are more than worthy of the number one contenders spot. Ultimately, in a contest that could have gone either way, the match would end in a draw after Christina Marie would hit a picture perfect German suplex into a pin which resulted on four shoulders on the mat to the count of three. TCW General Manager S.P. Anderson would address the situation saying the winner of the Goddesses’ Championship match between Champion The Notorious Mimi and The Vivacious Vicious Vicki later in the night would defend the championship in a triple threat match at a future TCW event.
Well let me tell you, that match between Mimi (Champion) and Vicious Vicki would prove to be another amazing bout. The history between these ladies was already there, and the in ring chemistry was even better. Both ladies dealt more strikes than Mariano Rivera including forearm strikes and a picture perfect round house by TCW’s resident angel. Vicious Vicki would truly live up to her name as she dealt not one, not two, – but THREE New Jersey Turnspike Drivers into the mat followed by an Eddie Guerreo-esque frog splash (on his birthday no less) to put away the seemingly unstoppable Notorious Mimi to become your NEW Goddesses Champion. Vicki has been sporting a new attitude lately, and now will be sporting some new bling to go along with it. Congrats to the new Champ.
After an impressive match earlier in the night by his clients in The Division, manager Benjamin King would circle the ring during said match as he stated to the commentary booth, he was scouting both ladies. Expect big things from the Division moving forward.
In another big man battle we saw Tommy Moose take on Jersey wrestling legend Magic in a really fun big man match, with a ton of banter. I really loved the chatter between both competitors as Moose has an amazing voice for jawing with the fans, and Magic has charisma for days. I also enjoyed a lot more agility from Moose with a great big man dropkick and a fun Hanson (Ivar) esque cartwheel mid match. He even threw in a diving elbow and a spear roll up combo for the W. The loss didn’t shake Magic who still had a good time dancing the night away with fans.
In cruiserweight action we saw the new Stand Alone Cruiserweight Title being defended by former WWE Cruiserweight Classic competitor, the Disney-loving Anthony Bennett taking on Kurt Bale with his new faction the Foundation of Wrestling in his corner — Dilfboy Daltano and Lance. Although there was plenty of outside interference from F.O.W. Bennett was able to overcome the numbers game with an impressive four man Slice Bread Number 2 spot, and a crucifix bomb pin to retain. I really enjoyed this match because we really got to see Bennett shine in a one on three type setting.
Another fan favorite Vinny Cenzo would take on ECW Legend Justin Credible in a straight up brawl. Earlier last week Vinny would tell us in an exclusive interview that he wants Justin to show up and bring it. You could tell Cenzo wasn’t joking as he certainly showed plenty of respect to Credible, but also threw everything he had at him. The fight would legit spill out into the crowd at one point, but Cenzo would actually make quick work of the legend with a quick small package roll up. Post a match a show of respect by both competitors.
Another match at Furious Intentions that spilled out into the crowd and then some, was the straight up fight between Homicide (Roh, LAX) taking on Steve Lugo in a reinstatement match for Lugo. Unfortunately for Lugo, Homicide would prevent said reinstatement with a dominating victory after some picture perfect in ring work. Great to see Homicide live in action again, and we’ll have to see what the future holds for Lugo moving forward.
“Pitbull” Gary Wolfe at Furious Intentions was also be in action in a cage match loaded with weapons against Steve “Monsta” Mack. This match was insane with ALL of the weapons including chairs, stop signs, cookie sheets, and even a flat screen TV. The destruction in the ring was insane but ultimately Mack would pick up the W here. Post a match a show of respect, or so we thought, but Mack would continue to beat on the veteran post match.
Match of the night at Furious Intentions went to the cage match for the TCW Hardcore Championship between fan favorite violence and the Trust Fund’s Waylon Kage. I’ll tell you what, neither of these men held back.
Lot of spots being thrown into the cage and a lot of climbing spots. Kage would EASILY take move of the night with a frogsplash off the top of the cage, the likes of which I never thought I would see at this show. Even though the maneuver missed, my hats off to Kage for the spot. Violence would rally but interference from The Trust Fund’s Titan Killer and Manager Jared Silberkleit with a well timed low blow would allow Kage to win and become your first ever TCW Hardcore Champion. The night would therefor go to the always dominant faction, the Trust Fund.
Up next for TCW, the ultimate prize, the TCW Heavyweight Championship will finally be on the line for the first time in a 40 Man Rumble inspired match at TCW’s “Mt. Olympus” on November 14.
