Celebremos: Eterna Navidad, which is streaming exclusively on Pantaya, is a lighthearted, star-studded, Spanish-language Christmas special that documents the night of a holiday dinner amongst friends. It takes place at the house of Colombian, two-time Grammy nominated artist Juanes and his wife Karen Martinez. Among their friends are famous Spanish singers and actors like Ana de la Reguera, who hail from countries like Mexico and Colombia and who bring their food and culture to the conversations throughout the evening.

The format of this special switches between interviews with the singers answering questions about their favorite Christmas memories and traditions during the dinner and songs by all the singers. The setlist includes both original Christmas songs translated in Spanish and original tunes. Featured songs include: “Diciembre” by Patty Cantis (to the tune of “Last Christmas”), “Ven a Mi Casa Esta Navidad” by Gloria Trevi, “El Nino del Tambor” by Juanes himself and featuring Jay de la Cueva (to the tune of “Little Drummer Boy”), “Lleguemos a Tiempo” (to the tune of “O Come All Ye Faithful”) by Luciano Pereyra and Edith Marquez and “Rodolfo El Reno” (the Spanish version of “Rudolph the Red-Nosed reindeer”) by Los Tigres del Norte.

Once everything and everyone is ready, the friends sit down at the table and have dinner and conversation. They talk about cultural holiday traditions and, of course, the COVID-19 crisis. They say what they are grateful for this year, including family, friends, and being able to do what they love for their careers. They acknowledged that things look very different this year in the entertainment industry, but everyone is doing what they can to keep spirits up and keep pushing forward. Overall, the gathering and dinner scenes seemed like a party I wanted to be a part of, and I think that is a sign of a successfully-produced special.

Celebremos: Eterna Navidad is now available on Pantaya.
