Welcome to This Wrestling Life: A Podcast — the latest addition to The Pop Break’s family of pop culture podcasts.

This is the first official episode of the podcast which is a celebration of fandom as well as a platform to champion wrestlers the hosts and guests feel never got their proper praise.

Each month Bill and his co-host, comedian and Pop Break staff writer Melissa Jouben (who will be joining the series in Episode 2), are joined by a special guest ranging from Pop Break staff to wrestling content creators to musicians, pop culture aficionados and (hopefully) people within the world of pro wrestling.

In this episode, we welcome Kenny Pete — a lifelong wrestling fan who has been a contributor to the site throughout the years and is the drummer for the Jersey Shore reggae outfit, Dub Proof.

In this episode Kenny discusses his 30+ years of love of pro wrestling, how his cousin kicked off wrestling fandom in his family along with stories of riots at wrestling shows, per Curtain Call house shows (including a hilarious Owen Hart story), and Kenny’s love of independent wrestling around the world (particularly in Cleveland, Ohio).

In the main event of the podcast titled “If I Had the Pencil” the guest champions a wrestler they believe is highly underrated or doesn’t get the love they deserve. The guest will recommend matches for everyone (including the hosts) to watch and their will be a debate about it throughout the episode.

In this episode Kenny discusses the high-flying 2 Cold Scorpio, who made a major impact on a recent episode of Dark Side of the Ring titled, ‘Collision in Korea.’ While Scorpio may have gained a newfound bit of notoriety, Kenny discusses how 2 Cold Scorpio was a pioneer in wrestling being an agile, aerial big men in Japan, WCW, ECW, WWE and currently on the independents. Kenny and Bill discuss his debut in WCW with Ron Simmons against Cactus Jack, The Barbarian and Tony Atlas, the four-way he was in in ECW with Shane Douglas, Chris Jericho and Pitbull 1, his Flash Funk days and his run in Chikara.
