Matt Taylor and our film editor Marisa Carpico are finally back for a third season of their Oscar retrospective podcast, And the Winner Still Is….

They break down the Best Picture nominees and discuss the major categories like Director and the Actresses. As well as a few of their own personal snubs and under-appreciated films from each year.

This episode, they discuss the 1938 Oscars, including Best Picture winner, You Can’t Take It with You. Elsewhere in the episode, they talk about what a crowd-pleaser The Adventures of Robin Hood still is, the bonkers yet satisfying plotting of Four Daughters, and wonder how the classic screwball comedy, Bringing Up Baby, didn’t make it into the Oscar race.

The other nominees for Picture that year were Alexander’s Ragtime Band, Boys Town, Four Daughters, Jezebel, The Grand Illusion, Pygmalion, Test Pilot, The Adventures of Robin Hood and The Citadel.
