Welcome back to The Way Too Early Oscar Podcast! It’s the second episode of the new season and hosts Marisa Carpico and Matt Taylor are talking about all things Oscar. First and foremost, the big discussion centers around the annual New York Film Festival. Films discussed from the festival include: Joel Cohen’s The Tragedy of Macbeth (starring Denzel Washington and Frances McDormand), Power of the Dog, The Lost Daughter, C’Mon C’Mon and Pedro Almodovar’s Parallel Mothers.
They also look at the big screen adaptation of Dear Evan Hansen (starring Ben Platt and an all-star cast), The Eyes of Tammy Faye (starring Jessica Chastain in the lead role), Julia Ducournau’s horror film Titane and Sean Baker’s Red Rocket. They also discuss two international films — Drive My Car and The Worst Person in the World.
