Celebrity Big Brother Season 3 Week 2 encompasses episodes four and five.

Episode 4 :FALLOUT FROM THE FIRST EVICTION

Following Teddi’s eviction, the Formation members take stock of what just went down. Carson and Cynthia realize they were on the wrong side of the vote and fear they might be the next targets because of it. Shanna tries to explain to them that they didn’t have the numbers so she went with the majority of the house. Cynthia isn’t buying it and knows that both Shanna and Todrick are not to be trusted. Fortunately for Shanna, she has found a new ally in Chris Kirkpatrick, who is quietly positioning himself in the house very nicely.

ROTTEN POTATOES

The next Head of Household competition is a twist on a Big Brother classic. The celebrities must roll a ball on three differently angled platforms (“potatoes”). Depending on how far they get on each platform, they are awarded points. Whichever celebrity has the highest total of the three combined potatoes will become the new Head of Household. Mirai sets the pace with a score of 51. Todrick can’t beat it, but Lamar goes next and puts up a respectable 61. Chris Kirkpatrick proves he can do more than sing and scores a 75, which will be extremely difficult to beat. Carson, Shanna, Cynthia, Todd, and Chris Kattan all do their best, but nobody can touch the pop star’s impressive score.

EVERYBODY LOVES CHRIS, BUT DOES CHRIS LOVE EVERYBODY?

Chris receives congratulations from the entire household. Kirkpatrick is well-liked and most everybody in the house is on good terms with him, so his nominations are likely to draw some unwanted attention his way. Chris lets Miesha, the former HOH, know that his target is Mirai. Having just set up a deal with Mirai, Miesha tries to pivot his attention to Carson or Cynthia, essentially having him do her bidding. Chris picks up on this right away, and it sets off all kinds of alarms in his head. He realizes quickly that Miesha is going to try to control this entire game. He talks with Shanna about the possibility of putting Mirai up next to Todrick, effectively handcuffing Miesha and forcing her to take out Mirai and save her closer ally. Chris is a very smart player.

THE OTHER CHRIS LOVES CAKE

While some celebrities are taking a cerebral approach to the game, others are going in a more…guttural direction. One of the fun things about Celebrity Big Brother is getting to see people in a fun yet less flattering light. Carson Kressley reveals that he learned how to bake during the pandemic and used that skill to make a delicious cake for the houseguests to enjoy. One houseguest, Chris Kattan, was very appreciative of the effort. For a few nights in a row, Chris sneaks out of bed and helps himself to Carson’s culinary contraption. This has nothing to do with the game, but it’s great levity and reminds us that celebrities binge eat late at night just like us!

ONE FINAL PUSH

While exercising, Chris and Miesha discuss nominations and Miesha gives one final plea to have Chris make Carson the second nominee, or at least be his backdoor plan. Chris tries multiple times to explain to Miesha that he doesn’t see Carson as a threat to his game. Miesha pushes the issue, but Chris doesn’t budge. Miesha’s strong-arming has given him serious doubts about moving forward with Miesha, and it’s probably a good move.

At the nomination ceremony, Chris sticks to his guns and nominates Mirai, but instead of drawing attention to himself and putting Todrick or Carson next to her, he goes with a safe bet and puts up Chris Kattan. Unless you’re cake, Kattan is not a threat to you in this house, and Chris Kirkpatrick wisely figures him to be the safest pawn to go up against Mirai and send her home.

Episode 5: WORKING BOTH SIDES

After the nomination ceremony, Carson reassures Chris Kattan that he is not in real danger of going home, and it is clear that Mirai is the main target. Meanwhile, Mirai gets consolation from Todrick and Miesha who encourage her to keep fighting. Shanna and Chris find themselves in a comfortable position, sitting pretty with both strong pairs in the house (Miesha/Todrick and Carson/Cynthia). When discussing strategy together, Shanna brings up an interesting scenario in which Miesha wins Power of Veto and takes Mirai off the block. Chris says he would be pissed if that happens, but will he have the gumption to put up Todrick as a replacement and lay all his cards out on the table? Only time will tell.

NEW TARGETS EMERGE

Unwilling to let it go, Todrick and Miesha confront Chris in the pantry and try again to push the narrative that Mirai is Chris’s ally and he should be looking at Carson. Chris knows he is being manipulated and is starting to become pretty offended by it, and honestly who can blame him? If his supposed teammates won’t support his decision in week 2, why should he have their back in the future? Their insistence has made Chris realize he might have to make a big move sooner than he’d like to.

IN LOVE WITH VETO

Big Brother has never been shy about a little cross-promotion, and Celebrity Big Brother is no different. The theme of the veto competition is a “Where’s Waldo”-esque game in which the celebrities have to identify where a “Marry Me” sign is located in a crowd. Most of the celebrities, save for Chris Kirkpatrick, do fairly well in the game, but Shanna and Todrick did the best and are tied at the end of the game. The tie-breaker has “Price is Right” style rules, meaning the closest to the answer without going over would win. Julie asks Shanna and Todrick how many hours passed between the initial revealing of the Mon Won hat to the time Todd sat on the block on the first eviction night. Todrick guesses 180 and Shanna guesses 72. Even though Toddrick is only five hours off from the correct answer of 175, the fact that he is over gives the win to Shanna, despite her being wrong by more than four full days. Had Todrick won, the Power of Veto ceremony would have been very interesting.

STRANGEST EVICTION SPEECH EVER

Having narrowly dodged a huge bullet, Chris’s original nominees, Mirai and Chris Kattan are still on the block when Shanna chooses not to use the Power of Veto. Before the vote, each person gets to give a speech for why they should stay in the house…at least that’s normally how it goes. When Chris stands up and gives his speech, he says he isn’t very good at playing this game, and it means a lot more to Mirai, so the house should vote to keep her around. Julie tries to salvage the moment by suggesting it might be reverse psychology…but we all know it isn’t. Despite their campaigning, Miesha and Todrick give Chris Kirkpatrick what he wants, and Mirai goes out on a 7-0 unanimous vote.
