Pop Break Live: Wolf Alice ‘North American Tour 2022’ at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park, New Jersey – March 24, 2022
Ellie Roswell, Joel Amey, Joff Oddie and Theo Ellis — better known as the formidable alt rock outfit Wolf Alice — walked onto the stage at the legendary Stone Pony in Asbury Park, New Jersey with one purpose — blow people’s minds.
The U.K. based band performed a blistering set on the “stage that Bruce built” as a part of their extended 2022 North American Tour. The tour is in support of their third album, Blue Weekend, which dropped on June 4, 2021. The album spawned the hit single — “Smile” (currently over 14 million streams on Spotify) — and scored them a Mercury Prize nomination and the 2022 Brit Award for group of the year.
The band kicked off the night with the aforementioned single, “Smile.” Throughout their quick yet expansive 17 song/90 minute set it was clear that Wolfe Alice is the very definition of alternative music with each song on their setlist sounding vastly different from the last. They can go from rock (Smile), to singer/songwriter (Safe From Heartbreak (If You Never Fall in Love), to straight up punk rock (Play the Greatest Hits).
Wolfe Alice is a band that is not only an absolute must-listen, but an absolute must-see if they roll through your town.
