Deftones came to Asbury Park and annihilated the Stone Pony Summer Stage! They are on their cross-country spring tour right now with support from Gojira and Vowws.

This tour was rescheduled from 2020 after being cancelled multiple times due to COVID-19 outbreaks. They have had multiple sold out shows on this tour and Asbury Park was one of them. The band will make their way to the East Coast in mid-May with a series of indoor and outdoor performances. The tour is in support of their critically acclaimed record Ohms, which dropped in September 2020. The album debuted at #5 on the Billboard Top 200, further solidifying their reputation as one of the elite alternative acts in the world today.

The crowd packed into the venue and had no problems with the pouring rain for more than half of the show. You could tell that everyone had built up plenty of anticipation for this show over the past two years. Everyone sang along, moshed, and had an amazing time.

Deftones played songs off nine of their albums including some from their latest release Ohms. Some of the other favorites were: Diamond Eyes, Around the Fur, Koi no Yokan, White Pony, Adrenaline, Gore, Saturday Night Wrist, and their self-titled. Chino Moreno is one of the best front men out there with an incredible vocal range. The screams can shatter glass and send chills up and down your arms like you have never felt before. This band has continued to crush it with each album and their live shows do not disappoint.

Their light show made it even more memorable with the rain falling through the light beams. It was at times fast paced and chaotic followed with slower parts to bring you back down from the high. Deftones continue to prove that they are some of the kings of metal and will keep moving forward with no signs of slowing down.
