Slightly Stoopid ‘Come Around’ Asbury Park with Summer Traditions 2022 Tour

Slightly Stoopid came through the Stone Pony and brought all the vibes! The San Diego based reggae band sold out the summer stage on their Summer Traditions Tour with support from Pepper, Common Kings, and Fortunate Youth. This long-awaited tour is exactly what everyone needed to make it feel like summer again at the Stone Pony. It was the perfect mixture of reggae, folk, punk, and a lot of ganja to make it the perfect summer show.

Slightly Stoopid played a great set with songs spanning all their albums including: Closer to The Sun, Longest Barrel Ride, Chronchitis, Slightly Not Stoned Enough to Eat Breakfast Yet Stoopid and more. Slightly Stoopid has an amazing ability to fuse multiple genres of music and do it well. There are not many bands that can play a reggae surf jam, then roll into a fast punk beat, then do a Fifty Cent cover. Miles Doughty and Kyle McDonald have mastered guitar, bass, and killer vocals that can move across genres with ease.

There is definitely a great sense of family and unity amongst all the bands on this tour. As Pepper mentioned that they played the Stone Pony twenty-one years ago with Slightly Stoopid to a much smaller crowd inside the venue. It is great to see that these guys have all become great friends who continue to do what they love in such an amazing way.

The Summer Traditions Tour still has plenty of upcoming dates going into August and September. Definitely make sure you get out and see this one you wont want to miss it!
