Socially Distanced #131: House of the Dragon Season 1

Thanks for checking this post! If you can, please subscribe to the Socially Distanced Podcast on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Anchor, and Google Podcasts as we drop on our new day — Fridays! And while you’re there if you can give us a rate and review that’d be awesome!

The Socially Distanced Podcast is a podcast hosted by two pop culture obsessed dads who were stuck in quarantine and decided to take their Facebook messenger conversations and turn them into a podcast.

Join hosts Al Mannarino and Bill Bodkin as they discuss everything in the world movies, music, sports, television and pop culture — everything keeping them sane in this time of socially distancing. This podcast is powered by ThePopBreak.com.

It’s time to re-enter the House Pop Break as we’re talking all things about the Game of Thrones Universe. Hosts Bill Bodkin (third of his name) and Amanda Rivas (Queen of Dragonstone) are joined by Ben Murchison (The #1 Commander of The Kingsguard) to discuss Season 1 of HBO’s House of the Dragon.

Prior to HOTD talk, they discuss Doctor Who moving to Disney+ and the reveal of the new (interim) Doctor as well as their thoughts on the trailers for Ant-Man: Quantumania and the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special.

They then head to Westeros to discuss the time jumps, Emma D’Arcy and Olivia Cooke’s performances, the confusion Targaryen children, the skeletal nature of Viserys, the season finale, what they hated about the first season, why the foot fetish guy is the most unredeemable character, a character change from the books that Amanda has an issue with, the treatment of female characters on the show and what has caused the exponential increase in viewership for the series week after week.
