After three magical years later, it’s finally time to say goodbye to the Boiling Isles and the family of characters that we’ve grown to love. Although it’s devastating to say farewell to The Owl House, it’s such a good send-off that it’ll make you feel equally satisfied and nostalgic.

The Owl House closes out with an explanation behind some of the biggest mysteries, like the Collector’s past (Fryda Wolff), King’s (Alex Hirsch) family, the crew’s future (including relationships and magical paths), and what becomes of Belos (Matthew Rhys). As far as series finales go, this is up there with the likes of She-Ra and the Princesses of Power as an ending fans will be more than content with.

The Owl House has been a comfort show for many fans, and in a series finale packed with action, they still make room for sentimental details that will have you in your feels. They find a way to fit in all of our favorite characters, even those that we haven’t spent more than a few episodes with, and even show us some new faces practicing magic at Hexside or becoming the next wave of witches. The fact that Luz (Sarah-Nicole Robles) gets to use the very first glyph she learned in a monumental way during the episode also shows her growth and how far we’ve come since she first stumbled into the Boiling Isles.

It’s undoubtedly an episode that will have you teary-eyed, not only because it’s our last hurrah with such a vivid, fun world, but because it truly shows the fleshed-out development and arcs of each character we love, Gus (Isaac Ryan Brown) and Willow (Tati Gabrielle), to Amity (Mae Whitman) and Hunter (Zeno Robinson), and even more beyond that, like the Collector.

This show has been full of laughter and enchantment, but it has shown viewers a beautiful message about being and embracing yourself. As the show quotes, “us weirdos have to stick together.” That is what makes the family of Eda the Owl Lady (Wendie Malick), King the Titan, and Luz the Human so special. Their bond has undoubtedly lifted the show to new heights and has been the core dynamic of the series we all love.

In the end, it’s bittersweet to say goodbye to a top-tier animated series that feels like a warm hug or cup of tea, but the ending proves just why the show will always be memorable, and it’s so nice to see the characters’ bright futures. To anyone wanting to share in a magical adventure that will make you smile, The Owl House is definitely worth a shot. It’s a heartwarming series from beginning to end, and one that makes all viewers wish they could step through the door to the Boiling Isles once again for the very first time.

The Owl House is available on demand and is streaming on Disney+
