3 Reasons Why Seth Rollins Should Win The New World Heavyweight Title

The original title and idea for this article was why Rollins should be the one to defeat Roman Reigns except WWE changed everything on me last night with Triple H’s blockbuster announcement.

After the draft, whatever brand Roman Reigns is not drafted to will be given the new World Heavyweight Championship. Now, I am not biased in saying Rollins should be the one to win this title. He has not held a major world championship since 2019 when he lost to The Fiend. He deserves his shine, now why? Well, let me be the one to convince all of you.

1. He Has Been the Only One to Defeat Roman Since Winning the Title:

The Royal Rumble 2022 will be remembered for many things. Ronda Rousey’s return and Rumble win, Bobby Lashley dethroning Brock Lesnar, and Seth Rollins beating Roman Reigns. No, he did not win the title, but he won by disqualification being the only person to defeat Reigns in one on one action since he won the title during the pandemic. This gives him a lot of credibility since he truly is the only one with this accomplishment. This is also the last time he competed for the world title, so he is in need of a deserving fair rematch.

2. Rollins is Not Doing Anything:

After his rather impressive win against Logan Paul, the architect has not had a  major role on Monday Night Raw since the show of shows ended. I mean the biggest Raw of the year his segment was essentially cut while he was standing in the ring. He is currently slated to wrestle Omos at Wrestlemania Backlash in Puerto Rico with minimal build to this match and let’s be honest he definitely deserves better. While the WWE draft starts this week and the possibility of Rollins engaging in new feuds there has been nothing for the two-time grand slam champion to partake in. Him winning the title can lead to many different feuds and give him some much-needed direction he needs in the other half of 2023.

3. The Workhorse

There is without a doubt that if you were to give a workhorse award for 2022, it would belong to Rollins. From the three-match series with Cody Rhodes, his short run as United States Champion, his feud with Riddle, and even his feud with Logan Paul from this past year’s Wrestlemania he has put in the work.

Wrestling Psychology 101 would tell you that after putting everyone over, you will be rewarded with something. Can you think of any better reward than a brand-new title, the day before your 37th birthday? Especially with the entire WWE Universe singing your song. Rollins is over and the crowd loves him. After everything he has been through these past couple of years, he deserves some gold to back up the famous Seth Rollins legacy.

Although we have a month until Night of Champions takes place, there seem to be a lot of people aboard the Rollins train for winning this new title. As soon as Triple H announced the title Twitter immediately said the only person deserving is Rollins. With four weeks of anticipation, it is a matter of time till we see if the visionary reclaims gold, and only time will tell if WWE also hops aboard the Rollins train.
