On Thursday, January 25th, The Winter Sun Tour – headlined by Lauren Calve and supported by Cat Ridgeway and Catterina stopped by Lincoln Center. The tour was part of the venues’ year-round program dubbed Lincoln Center Presents.

Lincoln Center presented this free and beautiful event as titled “Americana – Women’s Voices,” featuring these three singer-song writers. The event was also available for viewing via live stream.

The happy crowd eagerly filled the room and took their seats well before the night began. Everyone was looking forward to being in such a beautiful and iconic space, while also being treated to the music of these three talented women.

Catterina, an indie pop / folk singer, opened the night. She captivated the crowd with her vocals and lyrics. Originally from Brooklyn, NY, she currently lives in Houston.

Next on the stage was Cat Ridgeway. A singer-songwriter from Orlando, FL. Ridgeway’s mix of music and storytelling was a unique and fun experience. A fun moment was when she had the room laughing from the history and lyrics around her catchy song titled Julianna Money. The super talented Ridgeway also played numerous instruments on stage, including guitar, banjo and harmonica. She backed tracks live on stage using several instruments, which was amazing to watch unfold.

Lauren Calve headlined the night. Calve, a talented singer-songwriter from the DC area, recently released her full-length album Shift (released September 1, 2023). This album is a beautiful and emotional storytelling of her own personal shift. She opened the show with the album’s title-track “Shift.”

Her mesmerizing vocals coupled with her acoustic guitar playing treated the room to an otherworldly experience. Calve told stories about each of her songs. These stories painted pictures in everyone’s mind, allowing for a fantastic and full song listening experience.

Calve played many of the songs from her new album, including “Everything At The Same Time,” “Pretend to Forget,” and ended the evening with “Subtle Alchemy.”
