This weekend, NXT has its first Premium Live Event of the year in Vengeance Day. Trick is wrestling twice as he gets his NXT title shot in the main event, but he is also teaming with Carmelo Hayes in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. There are also two other championship matches and a No DQ match on the card. So, who is going to come out victorious on this show? Let’s predict.
No Disqualification Match: Dijack vs Joe Gacy: Since Gacy’s faction has split up I am not 100% sure NXT knows what to do with him. For Dijack however, that is not the case. He has been dominant in his run in NXT and I expect him to have a big 2024 ahead of him. This one will have a ton of weapons since it is a No DQ match, but I still think Dijack wins to gain momentum heading into 2024.
Winner: Dijack
The Family (Tony D’Angelo, Channing Lorenzo, and Adriana Rizzo) vs OTM (Lucien Price, Bronco Nima, and Jaida Parker): Not sure why they did not put Scrypts in this match, but regardless. I would rather have the Tag Team Championships on the line since this is a Premium Live Event and all the titles should be on the line, but excited to have a mixed tag team match to change it up. Since The Family are champions I do not see them losing even if their titles are not on the line, plus this is Rizzo’s debut.
Winners: The Family (Tony D’Angelo, Channing Lorenzo, and Adriana Rizzo)
NXT North American Championship: Oba Femi vs Dragon Lee: Femi has quickly become quite popular in NXT and clearly since he became champion so fast he is impressing the right people. Since Lee has been featured on Smackdown a lot more I do not see him winning this match. Expect a long reign from Femi though, he is truly one of the future stars of WWE.
Winner: “And Still” Oba Femi
Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Finals: Baron Corbin and Bron Breakerr vs Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams: Since Williams is wrestling twice on this show, I do not expect him to win both matches. Since the vibe backstage has been very high on Williams, I think him winning the NXT Title later on in the night is more realistic than him winning this tournament with Hayes. It builds up the eventual feud between Hayes and Williams and if Breakerr is moving up to the main roster it gives him one last major victory before moving on up.
Winners: Baron Corbin and Bron Breakerr
NXT Women’s Championship: Lyra Valkyria vs Roxanne Perez: With the current Valkyria and Paxley storyline continuing there are two ways this match can go. Either Paxley costs Valkyria the title and that leads to Valkyria finally snapping on her or Paxley does not get involved at all and Valkyria wins clean. Just like Breakerr, I do believe Perez is going to move up to the main roster soon, so I am going to go with Valkyria retaining the gold in a fantastic match.
Winner: “And Still” Lyra Valkyria
NXT Championship: Ilya Dragunov vs Trick Williams: This is Williams’s moment. After this match, we will finally reveal that Hayes was the one behind all of the attacks and at Stand and Deliver we will get the Hayes and Williams match that everyone wants to see. Don’t get me wrong Dragunov has been a great champion, but the Hayes Williams feud needs the NXT Championship attached to it, which is why I believe we will be crowning a new champion this weekend.
