Love & WWE: Bianca & Montez — Season 1 — “Love & WWE: Bianca & Montez” is a fun, exciting peek into the personal lives of WWE’s hottest couple. WWE has had huge success in the reality show market in Total Divas and Total Bellas in the past, but now there is a new show on the horizon. Hulu presented Love & WWE, an eight-episode series following the hectic lifestyle of real-life husband and wife Bianca Belair and Montez Ford. The series follows the couple on the road to Wrestlemania39, where Belair wrestles Asuka for the Raw Women’s Championship and Ford along with his tag team partner Angelo Dawkins is in a fatal four-way tag team match. So, how good is Love & WWE, let’s review.

Episode One: Love & WWE:

This episode takes us to the Royal Rumble, where Ford is in the 30-man Royal Rumble Match and Belair defends her title against Alexa Bliss. Ford throughout the episode talks about how he is trying to find his spot to get to Wrestlemania and wants to do something new to elevate himself. His tag team partner suggests doing something new, which is lifting and slamming someone to the mat. The episode also ends with Belair being confused over why Rhea Ripley did not pick to challenge her at Wrestlemania as she is becoming more worried about who her opponent will be on the show.

Episode Two: Planning a Baby:

As we continue to be on the road to Wrestlemania, a new challenge has come the way for Ford and Belair. While both of them desperately want a child, the pros and cons list begins to become longer. Belair does not want her biological clock to run out and wants to naturally conceive, however, with the current demands as one of the top WWE Superstars, the timing may not be right. As they meet with a fertility doctor he tells them that Belair could be out for 15-18 months which scares her and leaves her more confused on what to do.

Episode Three: The Training Game:

Belair and Ford are training for a bodybuilding competition scheduled for the week after Wrestlemania. When her mom realizes that Belair is overworking herself she suggests that Belair pull from the competition to focus on the biggest show of the year. Ford gets the opportunity to shine in singles action with an opportunity to qualify for the Elimination Chamber match. After he wins his singles match both Belair and Ford decide to pull from the bodybuilding competition to focus on the bigger task ahead and that is being one hundred percent for Wrestlemania.

Episode Four: Crunch Time:

Ahead of his big Elimination Chamber match Ford wants to show out in the biggest way possible and show the WWE Universe what solo Ford is all about. Trying to be supportive of her husband, Belair wants to make his gear. However, due to a ton of public appearances, she starts to run out of time to make the gear for the show. She even had to order a new sewing kit for her hotel room because she forgot a part of the sewing kit she already had. Thankfully the EST can thrive in high-pressured situations because she got the job done just in time for Ford’s big match.

Episode Five: Long Distance Love:

After the success of Elimination Chamber Ford is booked on Smackdown, which means he and Belair will be separated for the weekend. Belair, being disappointed about her husband being away, is surprised with her two best friends who will stay with her while Ford is away. Belair talks about how this may be what the future looks like if they decide to have a child with her at home and Ford is away. The more Belair thinks about it she believes it is not the right time to have a child. Unfortunately for Ford, his segment gets cut on Smackdown as his frustration continues about the possibility of him not being on the Wrestlemania card.

Episode Six: Too Busy To Get Busy:

As Wrestlemania is quickly approaching, Ford discovers the great news that he will be in a fatal four-way tag team match! Since the event is in Hollywood Ford wants to step up his style to go with the theme, but when he explains this concept to his tag team partner Dawkins is not pleased and hates the idea of fashion. Belair meets with the Divas of Compton to tell them they will be performing in her Wrestlemania entrance. Since they are only a couple of weeks away they need to get everything together to ensure they have the perfect entrance. At the end of the episode, Belair reveals that she is tired and nauseous and does not know if it is because of stress or possibly something else. She takes a pregnancy test to calm her and Ford’s nerves and the results lead us into episode seven.

Episode Seven: Stress & Mania:

We have finally made it to the biggest week of the year! Belair and Ford have appearance after appearance and they are feeling the stress that Wrestlemania week brings. Their pregnancy test that they took at the end of episode six comes back negative and even though there is a sigh of relief, both are upset about what could have been. Once they both land in Los Angeles, Belair gets sick, but she tries not to show it and power through to give the best performance she can for one of her biggest matches of the year.

Episode Eight: The Main Event:

The night is finally here, Wrestlemania. After Ford gets his huge win on Night One, Belair feels the pressure for Night Two. She has a motivational talk with her mom as she tells Belair that no matter what happens she will always be proud of her and she needs to get out of her head. She also tells Belair that she should not feel pressured to have a child because of everyone telling her to have one, she should only have one because she wants to. After Belair retains her title she and Ford celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary. Ford tells her the time is now to have a baby, but Belair says not right now and she wants to have her career a little bit longer before they make that decision. Ford says he respects her decision as we end Season One.

Overall: This was a fun series. The thing I love about shows like this is you do not have to be a wrestling fan to understand what is going on and you can get invested just by learning about Belair and Ford outside of WWE. I think they were the perfect couple to do this with and I can not wait to see if there will be a Season Two down the line.
