Will The New Bloodline Prevail? WWE Backlash 2024 Predictions

Now that we are in the post-Wrestlemania season of WWE, we have our first Premium Live Event in Backlash 2024 this weekend! As of writing this, only five matches are scheduled for the event, and four of them are championship matches. However, for all the afternoon-watching wrestling fans, this show will start at 1:00 PM EST, because it will be live from France! With all of that being said let’s predict Backlash 2024!

Randy Orton and Kevin Owens vs The Bloodline (Sola Sikoa and Tama Tonga): Sikoa is 0-34 since beating John Cena nearly a year ago, he should win this match, especially with the new edition of Tonga to his team. I do think it is interesting that even post-Mania Owens and Orton seem to be on the same page unless they are seemingly trying to plan a Summerslam match between the two of them this summer. There may be some antics in this match with Jimmy trying to get involved, and possibly even Jey depending on when this match goes on, but this is a must-win for Sikoa and Tonga. I mean, losing does have consequences right, Sikoa?

Winners: The Bloodline (Sola Sikoa and Tama Tonga)

WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship: The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane) vs Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill: Now when Cargill first signed with WWE last year, did I expect her first championship to be the Women’s Tag Team Championships? No, but here we are. I do not think they are going to have a long reign, as I believe they will lose the titles to Chelsea Green and Piper Niven at Money in the Bank leading to the team’s dissension and the two will have their highly anticipated one-on-one match at this year’s Summerslam.

Winners: “And New” Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill

WWE Women’s Championship: Bayley vs Naomi vs Tiffany Stratton: Why do we have triple-threat matches in wrestling? To protect people, this match with protect Stratton perfectly. Now although it is not Tiffy’s time to win the title, she will win it later this year either by cashing in the Money in the Bank briefcase or a one-on-one match at another Premium Live Event. Bayley will pin Naomi to further Bayley and Startton’s feud into the summer because “Bayley did not pin Stratton.”

Winner: “And Still” Bayley

World Heavyweight Championship: Damian Priest vs Jey Uso: Although this match will be good, Uso will not be the one to dethrone Priest. It is too early for Priest to lose the title, especially with Rhea Ripley gone until later this summer Judgement Day needs a champion they can count on and that will be Priest. Uso will reunite with his brother to take on Bloodline 2.0 at Summerslam for a feel-good moment and more importantly, rectify their performance at Wrestlemania 40.

Winner: “And Still” Damian Priest

Undisputed WWE Championship: Cody Rhodes vs AJ Styles: I don’t have much to say about this match besides Rhodes is going to win. I think Styles is a good first opponent for Rhodes as the two will put on a phenomenal match for Rhodes’s first Premium Live Event title defense, but there is no way Rhodes will lose here. I just worry about how the post-WWE Draft Smackdown roster looks, and who his next opponent will be.

Winner: “And Still” Cody Rhodes

WWE Backlash 2024 will be streaming live on Peacock on May 4th at 1 PM EST
