Socially Distanced: X-Men ’97 Finale Reaction + Fantasy Casting MCU X-Men

The Socially Distanced Podcast is hosted by two pop culture obsessed dads who decided to take their Facebook messenger conversations and turn them into a podcast. In 2022 they brought their friend, a pop culture obsessed mom to the show, and things got even better!

Join hosts Al Mannarino, Amanda Rivas and Bill Bodkin as they discuss everything in the world movies, music, sports, television and pop culture — everything keeping them sane in this time of socially distancing. This podcast is powered by ThePopBreak.com.

This week on Socially Distanced we’re going all in on X-Men. Join Bill Bodkin, Amanda Rivas, Alex Marcus and special guest Matt Farley of Marvel Guides as they discuss the X-Men 97 finale and they create and cast their own MCU X-Men film.

In the first segment of the episode they break down the finale of X-Men ’97. They talk about if it lived up to expectations, what parts didn’t work, the great punching scenes and the love between Charles and Magnus. They also discuss all the cameos through the season and whether they felt earned or were there for a cheap pop. They discuss the season – what worked, what didn’t and what they hope for in a second season.

In the second half of the pod (beginning at the 54 minute mark) they create the X-Men teams they’d like to see in the MCU and then cast who they’d like as Professor X, the big bad, the X-Men and more. They also talk about the plot of their films, who would be directing and how it could potentially tie into the MCU.
