All Ego’s NeXT Move: NXT Battleground 2024 Predictions

NXT is heading to the West Coast as they present their third premium live event of the year in Battleground. This card will crown the first-ever NXT North American Champion, have an NXT Underground Match, the TNA Knockouts Champion is wrestling for the NXT Championship, and more! So with all that being said let’s predict this historic show.

NXT Women’s North American Championship Ladder Match: Sol Ruca vs Lash Legend vs Fallon Henley vs Jaida Parker vs Michin vs Kelani Jordan:

This match can go many ways. On one hand, Michin should win this match to help bring prestige to the tile, but we all know that is not going to happen. To me this has to be Ruca or Legends match to win. Ruca has been super dominant since returning to TV and with Legend being on and off involved with Williams that can be an exciting dynamic. Since this is the first champion I would assume NXT would want the feel-good moment, give it to Ruca, and have her run wild through the women’s division. No matter who wins this is the sleeper match of the card, this one is going to be good.

Winner: “And New” Sol Ruca

NXT North American Championship: Oba Femi (C) vs Wes Lee vs Joe Coffey:

Triple threat matches happen in wrestling to protect people and in this match, NXT is protecting Lee as Coffey is going to end up getting pinned in this match. Since Lee just came back from injury it is too early to put the title back on him, and too early for him to lose so soon. With Femi he is so over within the NXT fanbase he can not lose this title. Femi will pin Coffey to lead to another match with Lee and Femi down the line.

Winner: “And Still” Oba Femi

NXT Underground Match: Lola Vice vs Shayna Bazler:

Vice has certainly improved since winning the NXT Breakout Tournament in 2023. She has come into her own and she is starting to put the pieces together. In my opinion, she will be holding that NXT Women’s North American Championship later this year. I think Vice gets the win here in a competitive match-up. Bazler will do the job and then go back up to the main roster.

Winner: Lola Vice

NXT Tag Team Championships: The O.C. (Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows) vs Nathan Frazer and Axiom:

Does the O.C. need to win this match? No. Are they probably going to win this match? Yeah. The NXT Tag Team Division is stacked and there are a lot of teams that Anderson and Gallows have yet to face in their career. Since it seems that WWE does not have palms for them on the main roster, they can have a small reign in NXT to bring them some momentum before rejoining AJ on the main roster.

Winners: “And New”: The O.C. (Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows)

NXT Women’s Championship: Roxanne Perez vs Jordynne Grace:

This will be the best match on the whole card. The history of a TNA Champion facing off against an NXT Champion and potentially winning the title and bringing it back to TNA for Against All Odds and Slammiversary. Plus Grace has an open challenge for the Knockouts title as Against All Odds six days after Battleground, can we potentially see a rematch? This is truly one of the more unpredictable matches on the card because of the surprise factor of what can happen next. One thing I will say is Grace has killed it in this role and I hope we can see her in NXT more frequently. Perez will get the win here only because the only one who will be taking that title off of her is Gulia when she is ready to come to the United States.

Winner: “And Still” Roxanne Perez

NXT World Heavyweight Championship: Trick Williams vs Ethan Page:

I wished they would have waited till after this match to have Page debut because I feel it is too early for him to win a title, but also too early for him to lose as he only debuted a week and a half ago. Williams is too over to lose the title as well as he is carrying the NXT brand on his back on the week to week basis. This match should not end clean, have Noam Darr get involved or Page get disqualified to lead to another match. This gives time for the crowd to know Page and gives him time to adapt to the WWE way of TV.

Winner: “And Still” Trick Williams

NXT Battleground 2024 is streaming live June 9th at 8 PM EST on Peacock
