Socially Distanced returns to Pokolistan to discuss the second half of Creature Commandos Season 1!
Bill Bodkin is in the host seat this week along with “The Human Star Wars Encylopedia” Amanda Rivas to discuss the James Gunn MAX series. Joining them this week is a double debut from the world of professional wrestling.Â
First, joining us from the great state of Iowa is wrestler J.P. Harlow — a veteran of the Texas independent scene who has also done work for AEW and the NWA. Second, is Warren Hayes, Quebec’s favorite son and the host of the Mr. Warren Hayes show which streams live on YouTube on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The foursome take to the prisons of Belle Reve to discuss the happs since we last spoke about Rick Flagg Sr., Weasel, G.I. Robot, The Bride, Nina Mazursky, Doctor Phosphorus and Eric Frankenstein. They discuss James Gunn’s ability to get even the most obscure characters over, and how he was able to seamlessly integrate the wider world of DC into the series. They discuss the Creature Commandos’ tragic backstories, the famous voice cameos that permeated the series, the soundtrack, and how the finale was a bit too convoluted for its own good.
In the pre-game segment they have a fun little conversation about their “creature comfort” aka food they eat during cold weather. Ever think chili and cinnamons would go together? Well think again!Â
But more importantly they discuss the charities that you can donate to in order to help those in need in California who have had their lives irrevocably changed by the wildfires. These charities include: World Central Kitchen, Americares, The Red Cross, Greater Good, Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority, & more. They also discuss the need for donations to help those still hurting from last fall’s climate disaster in Asheville, NC. Charities for that include Beloved Asheville, and more.
