Professional wrestling legend Sting announced on January 23, 2025 that this will be his final year appearing on the wrestling convention circuit.
Sting took to social media today to make the announcement and left his fanbase with the following message:
“I have enjoyed meeting fans at events around the world.
As much as I have loved interacting with you all in the traditional Stinger war paint, I’ve decided that 2025 will be my last year appearing in full gear.
I guess it’s 2025 or never. Wow. Tough to speak that out.”
His 2025 dates are yet to be made public, so keep an eye out on the socials for your favorite cons for more information.
“The Icon” retired from pro wrestling at All Elite Wrestling’s Revolution PPV on March 4, 2024 when he and his protege Darby Allin defeated The Young Bucks — Matthew and Nicholas Jackson. In AEW, Sting retired as World Tag Champion with Darby Allin, and he was undefeated in his three-year stint with the company.
Sting was inducted into the TNA Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2012 and the WWE Hall of Fame in 2016. Sting is a two-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion, a six-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion, four-time TNA World Heavyweight Champion, and two-time NWA International Heavyweight Champion as well as a former NWA TV Champion, WCW United State Champion, multi-time WCW Tag Team Champion, and TNA World Team Champion.
