Wrestlemania 41 Night 2 Predictions: Will John Cena Win #17?

Wrestlemania 41 Night 2 takes place this Sunday April 20, 2025 from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event will stream live in the U.S. on Peacock.

The first night of the two-day Mania, will feature a historic main event featuring John Cena, in his newly minted heel role, challenging for the WWE Universal Title held by “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes.

Pop Break’s Editor-in-Chief Bill Bodkin and Tyler Yaseumbousky of BCP+ have teamed up to give their predictions on Wrestlemania 41 Night 2.

WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship: Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez © vs. Bayley & Lyra Valkyria

Tyler’s Thoughts: I really feel bad for every lady involved in this match. That might sound odd, but they all deserve better. Liv was champion for half the year and she doesn’t get a solo match at WM….Bayley was in a world title match last year… Yet no singles plans. I wish they would’ve built to a Liv Morgan versus Bayley one on one match instead. Meanwhile, Lyra is the Intercontinental Champion and she’s in this thrown together match instead.

Prediction: “and still” Liv & Raquel

Bill’s Thoughts: WWE built two mid-card titles for the women’s division and neither title is being defended (one of those champs, Chelsea Green, hasn’t even been fully factored into the show yet). As per usual the Women’s Tag Belts Match at Mania feels like a way to get people onto the card as opposed to as an interesting feud. All four women will work hard in this one, but they all deserve a lot better than this.

Prediction: “and still” Liv & Raquel

“The Phenomenal” AJ Styles vs. Logan Paul

Tyler’s Thoughts: Most of these types of matches are booked for Night 1 but this is another match that just got thrown together for the sake of having a match with no real build and no real storyline. Matter fact, AJ has a better storyline going with Karrion Kross then he does against Logan Paul. Doesn’t mean this match won’t be good, but it just shows how random a lot of these matchups are this year.

Prediction: My initial reaction when this match was announced was that AJ would finally get a big win at Wrestlemania. I’m actually thinking that’s not the case — even though wrestling logic would dictate that since Logan Paul came out on top on RAW that must mean AJ is winning, but for some reason, my gut thinks Logan Paul wins, which will make Kross go after AJ for letting down the “locker room.”

Bill’s Thoughts: If this is what it takes for AJ Styles to leave WWE for AEW, then I’m fine with this. Jokes aside, it’s easy to see why you’d put one of the best in-ring guys of the past 25 years in there with a celebrity who does have legitimate wrestling talent and acumen. It’s going to be way more fun than advertised but in the end “The Maverick” takes the W.

Prediction: Logal Paul

Fatal 4-Way for the Intercontinental Title: Bron Breakker © vs. Penta vs. Finn Balor vs. “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio

Tyler’s Thoughts: I’m very stoked for this match. I do wish that Sheamus and Ludwig Kaiser were added to the match. I wanted a six way ladder match for the intercontinental championship. But I’m happy with this!

Prediction: I truly think the time is right to put the title on Dirty Dom, it’s also the perfect opportunity to take the belt off of Bron because he doesn’t have to get pinned. I personally believe Finn Balor will have the match won. But judgment day will turn on him and dirty dom will get the victory because of it.

Bill’s Thoughts: Which one of these doesn’t belong? Dirty Dom is the answer! You have two very good wrestlers in Penta and Finn in there with a dude who’s breaking out (pun intended) in Breakker. Then there’s Dom. As bog standard as a wrestler you can get. But he gets heat, brother. He’s got a mustache! He’s got a mullet. Heat! Psychology! Shoot me. He’s obviously winning because it’s singlehandedly the most WWE thing to do. It doesn’t matter who’s got the book, this is the move they always make.

Prediction: “And New” Dirty Dominik Mysterio

Sin City Street Fight: Drew McIntyre vs. Damian Priest

Tyler’s Thoughts: people kept talking about how this match felt thrown together, but I disagree. They’ve clearly been telling a story between these two that goes all the way back to last year’s Wrestlemania. I think this match will be very entertaining and much better than most people are expecting.

Prediction: Drew McIntyre wins! He needs it.

Bill’s Thoughts: This is so thrown together it hurts my soul. It feels like these two got the short end of the world title picture stick, and creative thought “Well, they have history … and we need a street fight.” Will this match rule? Obviously, it’s McIntyre and Priest, they don’t take days off, especially on nights like Wrestlemania.

Prediction: Big Drew.

WWE Women’s World Title Triple Threat: “The Genius of the Sky” Iyo Sky © vs. Rhea Ripley vs. “The EST” Bianca Belair

Tyler’s Thoughts: I’m calling her right now. This will be the best match of Wrestlemania 41 on either night.

Prediction: Belair wins keeping her WM streak alive at 5-0 ! Also a heel turn is on the way for her as well.

Bill’s Thoughts: I agree with Tyler, this will be the match of the weekend and is argument for putting the belt back on Bianca is a good one. However, if there’s one thing we know about Ol’ Uncle Paul, he loves himself some Rhea Ripley. I think The Annihilator gets her title back and embarks on a new reign of leather bound terror. Iyo will fade into the background. Bianca, I feel moves over to Smackdown and gets re-involved with Jade Cargill.

Prediction: “And new” Rhea Ripley

WWE Universal Title Match: “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes © vs. John Cena

Tyler’s Thoughts: This is the one match that I truly believe is extremely hard to predict. Most people think because of Cena’s schedule that it makes sense for Cody to win and for cena to metaphorically pass a torch to him by putting Cody over. I think that’s definitely a real possibility. But for some reason, I don’t feel like it makes sense to turn John Heel and then immediately have him lose such a major match. I’m about 51/49 on this one…

Prediction: My brain and my gut are a little split here, but I’m gonna go with a big moment. I think a heel John Cena will win his 17th world championship at Wrestlemania 41. After a newly turned heel, Seth Rollins, who I believe will sell his soul to The Rock in the main event of night one to win his main event… interferes and helps Cena. Now I admit having a heel win on both nights of WM isn’t very likey…but I think HHH will do it for the first time ever since going to two nights.

Bill’s Thoughts: This has been a bit of a let down. The heel turn at Elimination Chamber was one for the history books, but the follow-up has been as pedestrian as pedestrian gets. Cena has been seen all of twice since the Chamber, and Cody has been cutting promos in front of championship belts. No sign of The Final Boss. No sign of Travis Scott. Cody verbally bitch-slapped Cena in the promo game, and gave him a Cross Rhodes. Not exactly how you sell a “generational” main event. This one’s gonna see a lot of blood and plunder, run-ins out the ass, and so many nearfalls you’ll get whiplash.

Prediction: John Cena hits Big #17. I could easily see him running till his final match with the title, and Cody beats him in his final match. That’d be a very interesting angle, and would put some stakes on things. Rollins’ “selling his soul” narrative is getting traction on the internet, but we’ve seen stuff like that happen before where something in WWE finds steam and nothing comes of it. I do, however, see The Rock and Travis Scott coming out and causing trouble. However, Cody’s got no friends, so he’s not getting any backup. Rock stands tall, taller than Cena and gets all the spotlight, while Big Match John heads back off to Hollywood.

Wrestlemania 41 Night 2 will streaming on Saturday April 20 on Peacock.
