Australian Band Jet Takes Philly Fans on a Nostalgic Ride

Pop Break Live: JET on the “North American Tour 2025” at The Fillmore in Philadelphia on Wednesday 4, 2025.

Australian rockers Jet played the Fillmore in Philadelphia on Wednesday June 4. The band is currently on their North American Tour which kicked off on May 27th in Toronto.

The tour will see them play songs off their 2003 debut album Get Born which sold 14 million copies and spawned the mega-popular massive international smash, “Are you Gonna be My Girl.” Get Born also produced hits like “Rollover D.J.,” “Look What You’ve Done,” and “Cold Hard Bitch.” 20+ years later the song is still as popular as ever. The carmaker Audi just used the song for their new AudiQ5 model that came out in 2025. It’s just one of those songs that makes you want to roll your windows down and fly. They’ll also be performing other fan favorites from their other two albums — Shine On and Shaka Rock.

Jet opened up with a one-two punch of screaming guitars on “Last Chance” and “Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is.” They got the crowd screaming and clapping right out of the gate. They played their most recent single “Hurry Hurry,” released in 2024. After the song lead singer Nic Cester apologized to the audience if he had missed any notes on the song. He said he had a Philly Cheesesteak and it feels like it was lodged in his esophagus. The crowd laughed. A few times during their set there was a chant from the audience which seemed to combine part of the Philadelphia Eagles chant and -J-E-T. Gotta love the city of brotherly love!

One of the loudest responses during the night came on the sentimental “Look What You’ve Done,” which turned into a sing along (it was one of many). The Jet members are incredible musicians and their showmanship really shone throughout the night, especially on “Are You Gonna Be My Girl” and “Cold Hard Bitch.” They ended their set by blowing the crowd away with an incredibly energetic version of “Rip It Up.” It was wild.

The encore included a stunning version of the bluesy song “Move On.” The harmonizing was beautiful and the added harmonica really made it more special. The night ended with a great cover of AC/DC‘s  “It’s Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock and Roll).” This was an impressive nostalgic old school rock ‘n’ roll show! They sounded great and really brought the swagger! This Philly crowd was great and was very vocal throughout the entire set. No doubt these happy fans are looking forward to the release of their newest album coming out by the end of the year.
