90.5 the Night Announces Lineup for Songwriters on the Beach

90.5 The Night, Brookdale Public Radio, has announced the line-up for its annual Songwriters on the Beach. The concert series started way back in 2005 in Red Bank, then making its way to Belmar, before finding its forever home at Bradley Beach, NJ. 

Thursday July 10th

The Jack Moves 

An American soul and R&B duo from Newark, featuring singer and songwriter Zee Desmondes and producer/multi-instrumentalist Teddy Powell. Their music varies from a vast range of inspirations, from ’70s soul and funk, crafting an unblemished sound that is both wistful and modern.

Patty C & The Pints 

A band from Atlantic Highlands that play a whopping blend of genres, including rock, blues, and folk. The lead singer and songwriter Pat Conley (Patty C) is known to play multiple instruments and his incredible musical talent. His band members, The Pints, are known for their distinct musical backgrounds. 

Thursday July 17th 

Hotline TNT

An American rock band hailing from New York City, wailing in the genre of shoegaze, Alternative rock, and noise pop. Their front man singer and guitarist Will Anderson, writes and records all their music, which comprises an intense distorted guitar sound. Hotline TNT has released two full-length albums, Nineteen in Love (2021) and Cartwheel (2023). A third album is on the way, Raspberry Moon, scheduled to release on June 20, 2025. 

Preachers On The FM 

An alternative rock band from Red Bank, take it upon themselves to keep nostalgia and teenage angst alive. The band was shaped by friends Pete Squassi (lead vocals, guitar), Stephen Appezzato (guitar), Calvin Bruno (drums), and Noah Kralyevich (bass, vocals) in the earlier months of 2024. Preachers On The FM seizes its audience with their fresh and profoundly sincere songwriting, and their lifetime hunger for making music. 

Thursday July 24

Beauty 

A rock ‘n’ roll trio from Red Bank that formed in 2018. Beauty’s music is inspired by the likes of ‘70s groups Cheap Trick and The Who, with a heavy hand on power pop songwriting. Beauty is a band like no other, exerting the rights to use the guitar solos whenever possible, and creating to die for melodies. 

Kiersten Blue

A Jersey born native from the city of Asbury Park. Kiersten Blue blends the likes of alternative, rock, pop, and folk music to create something original and impactful. Since April 2021, she has been performing locally in her hometown of Asbury Park and the tri-state area. This year she plans on releasing a four-song EP that will mirror her journey in the music industry. 

Thursday July 31

Craig Finn

An American singer/songwriter from Minneapolis best-known as the frontman of the indie rock band the Hold Steady. Finn has released six solo albums: Clear Heart Full Eyes (2012), We All Want the Same Things (2017), I Need a New War (2019) (2022), and Always Been (2025). He is most known for his third-person narrative songwriting, Finn habitually references pop culture, adolescence, partying religion, and drugs in his music. 

Kathleen Edwards

A Canadian singer-songwriter and musician. Her debut album, Failer (2002), consisted of her two showstopping singles, Six O’clock News and Hockey Skates, in which Rolling Stone Magazine acknowledged her to be one of the year’s up and coming musicians. Her next two albums, Back to Me (2005) and Asking for Flowers (2008) in the up-and-coming years entered the Billboard 200 list. Kathleen’s music has been compared to a mixture of Suzanne Vega and Neil Young.

Polaroid Fade 

A band that takes inspiration from classic artists like The Smiths and The Sundays, Polaroid Fade is a group of musicians carrying out their love for ‘90s indie rock. 18-year-old lead singer, Nicoletta Giuliani, gives off a little of Mazzy Star meets Alanis Morrissette. 

Thursday August 14th

The Tisburys 

A band saluting from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, are all about the ‘90s radio rock. The Tisbury’s take inspiration from a spectrum of bands, such as Gin Blossoms and The Replacements. Their latest album A Still Life (2025), tackles themes of remembrance and loved ones – reminiscing about who you are at this very moment, staying present, and being proud of yourself. 

The dt’s 

A band that was created to be reborn and made to create music. If you have the chance to listen to them, you’ll discover their abilities to capture genres like rock and blues masterfully. Their style to pop music, while using classic influences, is magnetic, making them an original duo. 

Thursday August 21st

The Jaws of Brooklyn 

This high energy seven-piece live act from Seattle, Washington, packs a punch with their showstopping vocal harmonies. The Jaws of Brooklyn create a blend of ’60s garage rock and soul that’ll surely take you back in time. Since April 2025, the band has announced a new album and performances all over the Pacific Northwest and elsewhere. 

Tyler Ballgame 

A vivacious alternative indie pop singer/songwriter, Tyler Ballgame is not one to miss. He takes every performance and gives it his all, making each one an opportunity to exceed limits. His music summons s a sense of familiarity and bliss.
