Jack’s Mannequin Bring their MFEO Tour to Philly’s Fillmore

Pop Break Live: Jack’s Mannequin MFEO Tour – Celebrating 20 Years – The Fillmore in Philadelphia on Sunday June 8, 2025

Jack’s Mannequin, led by indie-pop singer-songwriter Andrew McMahon, played to a sold out crowd at the Fillmore in Philadelphia on June 8th. It was one of twenty four dates on their MFEO Tour to celebrate their 20th Anniversary. It’s their first full length U.S tour in ten years and marks the 20th anniversary of their beloved album, Everything in Transit.

They played an impressive twenty one song set, which included playing their Everything in Transit album in it’s entirety. The rest of the set was the perfect mix of hits and fan favorites from their other two albums, The Glass Passenger and 2011’s People and Things. The showmanship between McMahon and his band was fun to watch. If he wasn’t playing, standing or jumping off his piano, he was all over the stage.

One of the highlights was on the song “La La Lie.” McMahon said he wanted to give his sound guy, who was in the back of the GA section, a high five. With the help of the fans he made it all the way to the back while crowd surfing in his inflatable rubber duckie. It was such a fun part of the show. McMahon’s connection to his fans has always been off the charts and it was no different with this Philly audience. His lyrics are often very relatable, so it was not surprising that so many songs prompted a crowd-wide sing-a-long. The fans started screaming when they heard the very recognizable opening chords to “Mix Tape”. It got one of the loudest reactions of the night.

A moment that really stood out was the performance of “Swim.” It’s a true gem off their 2008 album The Glass Passenger. I noticed McMahon was wearing a beaded bracelet that spelled out SWIM. The lyrics from that song are so inspirational and uplifting. It’s a song  that means a lot to McMahon and especially to his fans. When singing “Cell Phone,” he mentioned it was one of his favorite songs but said his label really didn’t think much of it. They audience felt differently and he got a great response on that one. The set ended with their most popular song, “Dark Blue.” They encored with “Restless Dream” and “MFEO Part 1-Made for Each Other” and “PT-2- You can Breath.”

They band took the audience on a memorable nostalgic ride. This extremely vocal crowd was one of the best I’ve been apart of. This is what I’d call a feel good show! It couldn’t have gone any better.
