Words by Bill Bodkin & Isabella Baute Arboleda

The WWE late-summer classic, SummerSlam, will emanate from MetLife Stadium for not one, but two days on Saturday August 2nd and Sunday August 3rd. Pop Break’s Editor-in-Chief Bill and writer Isabella Baute Arboleda take to Pop Break to give their predictions for SummerSlam 2025 Night 2.

No DQ, No Countout Last Chance Match for the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Title: Becky Lynch © vs. Lyra Valkyria

Isabella’s Thoughts: We have Becky Lynch, a veteran in WWE, going up against Lyra Valkyria a rising star, this is one of the most interesting storlynes of the night. Both wrestlers have a long history and have faced each other before. This match is going to be full of action and anything is allowed.

Prediction: It’s time for Lyra Valkyria to win and for Becky’s Lynch to move to her new step with the WWE.

Bill Bodkin: The money is on Bayley, who Lyra has issues with, getting involved somehow and costing her the match. We then transition Becky and Lyra far away from each other. Lyra and Bayley can feud, while Becky moves onto some fresh.

Prediction: Never bet against Big Time Becks on a PLE.

TLC Match for the WWE Tag Team Titles: The Wyatt Sicks © vs. Andrade & Rey Fenix vs. #DIY vs. The Motor City Machine Guns vs. The Street Profits vs. Fraxiom

Isabella’s Thoughts: This is one of the hardest matches to predict but also one the craziest of the night. We have six tag teams facing off against each other, using tables and chairs, and it is for sure to be a match full of action. I mentioned that this match is difficult to predict because each team brings something unique to the ring. I believe all of them have the opportunity to win, and they all deserve to be in this match.

Prediction: DIY has the potential to win this match, however, in this match nothing is certain.

Bill’s Thoughts: This will be a ton of fun as you 10 highly athletic wrestlers going at it, trying to steal the show. Let’s try and do some process of elimination. I’m going to toss Andrade & Fenix out, as I think they’re destined to take on Los Garzas for the AAA Tag Titles at Triplemania. The Street Profits don’t need them and probably should be split into singles at this point. Machine Guns and DIY have been there, done that. That leaves Fraxiom and The Wyatts. Fraxiom should win because they’re new and could use the titles to rocket them to a better position on the card. However, WWE will likely stick with the nostalgia of the Wyatts, and keep the belts on the,

Prediction: The Wyatt Sicks.

Intercontinental Title Match: “Dirty” Dominick Mysterio © vs. “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles

Isabella’s Thoughts: This is also a hard match to predict. On one hand, we have Dominick Mysterio, who is seen as the future of WWE. On the other hand, there’s AJ Style. One of the best superstars in WWE, who has a long history with the company. This match will definitely be a test for Dominick, and he won’t have it easy.

Prediction: This match could go any way, but I’m betting on Dominick Mysterio to keep the title.

Bill’s Thoughts: Dirty Dom all the way. They’re not going to have him drop to AJ — as you could see AJ get that TNA Title down the road. Dom wins here, and then goes to Triplemania to reset the AAA Universe by winning their Mega Championship.

Prediction: Dominick Mysterio

United States Title Cage Match: Solo Sikoa © vs. “The Samoan Werewolf” Jacob Fatu

Isabella’s Thoughts: this match is going to be full of action and we can expect surprises. Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu are both incredibly strong competitors, sharing the same lineage. This Sunday, they will face each other in a cell, fighting without the option to escape, in order to prove who is the best.

Prediction: Is most likely that Jacob Fatu will win the title, but maybe Solo Sikoa can give us a surprise.

Bill’s Thoughts: Moonsault off the top of the cage. You want a moment? Have the big man hit that and that’ll be in the Then. Now. Forever. Together. sizzle reel forever.

Winner: Jacob Fatu

Triple Threat for the WWE Women’s World Title: Naomi © vs. Rhea Ripley vs. Iyo Sky

Isabella’s Thoughts: This is set to be one of the most exciting matches of the night. Naomi Cashes in her Money in the Bank during a thrilling match between Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky at Evolution 2, where they both fought fiercely for the WWE Women’s Championship. This Sunday, all three competitors will be giving their best for the title, which Naomi will be defending. Expect a fierce battle as Rhea and Iyo try to take the championship from her at any cost.

Prediction: Naomi will retain the championship, and it’s likely that both Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky will transition to a new storyline. They might pursue another title separately.

Bill’s Thoughts: This will be a great match, but ultimately Naomi is keeping this belt warm for Stephanie Vaquer at Clash in Paris.

Winner: Naomi

Street Fight for the WWE Undisputed Championship: John Cena © vs. “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes

Isabella’s Thoughts: The main event of the night, which has everyone excited, features the legendary John Cena defending his title against Cody Rhodes. Cody has everything to defeat John Cena and win this title, in a match that anything goes. It’s sure to be a very tough battle.

Prediction: In the end, John Cena will retain the title he is nearing retirement while Cody has more opportunities ahead in future.

Bill’s Thoughts: John Cena’s heel turn has been horrible, so it’s time to figure out how to course correct things for him to have the big babyface send off on his retirement tour. How do you do that? Cody Rhodes beats him. The Final Boss comes out with his new posse, and they lay waste to Cena — putting him on the shelf. Cena returns as a surprise partner for Cody and his army of babyfaces at some point.

Prediction: Cody Rhodes.

WWE SummerSlam 2025 Night 2 will stream live on Peacock on Sunday August 3, 2025.
