L.A Band The Strike Fired Up A Sold-Out Philly Crowd at The Fillmore

Pop Break Live: The Strike at The Fillmore in Philadelphia on Saturday August 2, 2025

L.A band The Strike played to a sold out crowd at The Fillmore in Philadelphia on Saturday August 2 as they performed as one of the openers for The Fray’s 20th Anniversary Tour. The Fray’s tour is celebrating their debut album, How To Save A Life.

Over the years, The Strike has developed solid reputation for putting on energetic and captivating shows and this night was no exception. Lead by charismatic front man Chris Crabb, the band tore through a crowd pleasing 10 song set. They opened up with the rocking “Overtime.” Their music has a very distinct melodic ’80s sound yet feels “radio ready” for these times. Their chemistry with the audience was apparent from the start of the show.

The set was a showcase of incredible talent which included impressive showmanship and musicianship. There were many great guitar riffs, sax solos and retro synth sounds throughout the night. Songs that stood out were “Down,” “Just Like Paradise” and the anthemic “Get Away.”

Another great moment was when the audience sang along loudly on their their cover of The Outfields’ big ’80’s hit, “Your Love.” The show ended with “Devils in the Canyon.”

There is no doubt that the band not only garnered a bunch of new fans from their impressive set but also fired up the audience big time for The Fray!
