The Bayzara Music Festival is a beachfront music festival will be held on the beach in Keansburg, New Jersey on Sept. 6-7.
The two-day festival will feature unbelievable live music and experiences and offers an array of things that you will want to immerse yourself in. There will be unique aerial acrobatics, fascinating art exhibits, hand-on activities, New York Jets and Giants YouTubers, Ghostbusters slime labs, and a top-tier line-up of food vendors
The festival will be a music-heavy one, as there will be multiple stages where you can catch local and national bands performing. Below are some bands you should definitely be checking out while you’re there.
The Ataris: Indiana bound pop-punk band The Ataris, formed in 1996. They gained cult status in the late ‘90s with many of their albums before their cover of “Boys of Summer” exploded in 2003. The group consists of bandmates singer/guitarist Kris Roe, guitarist Jasin Thomason and Marco Peňa, bassist Mike Davenport, and drummer Chris Knapp.
Better Than Ezra: This staple of ’90s alternative rock scene scored a massive anthem with their 1995 hit “Good” and have been a consistently touring band that will serve as one of the headliners of Bayzara.
Questa: A NY born and raised singer/songwriter Emilio Cuesta. His music is picturesque and captivating. Emilio combines his filmmaking skills with his songs, therefore creating a psychedelic theatrical show.
The Mercury Brothers: New Jersey natives deliver a sentimental and inspirational verve to the underground rock scene. They are driven and are a local staple in the Asbury Park rock scene. Full of life, energy, and emotion, they’ll create an experience you won’t want to miss.
Dentist: Asbury Park natives deliver a surf punk-tinged sound mixed with indie-pop. The melodious vocals of Emily Bornemann are fierce and prone to obsessing over, while the sounds of Justin Bornemann on guitar and Matt Hockenjos on drums beautifully complement one another.
Vertical Horizon: Matt Scannell and Keith Kane, a folk-based acoustic duo created their band in 1991. They began their journey at parties and local coffee houses around Georgetown University where the hold their alma mater. In 1996, their bassist Sean Hurley and drummer Ed Toth joined the line-up making them a four-piece man band. Shortly thereafter they produced the monster singles “Everything You Want” and “You’re a God.”
Bird Streets: A native upstate New Yorker, John Brodeur, aka Bird Streets, creates a classic yet contemporary sweet-sounding rock. NPR and PopMatters, names him “A slingshot artists alongside then emerging talents like Phoebe Bridgers and The Beths.”
